That's crazy and humorous, in a twisted sense.

Whatever happened to the bicycle guy from a a couple years back? He was homeless, supposedly, and would hand out poems to whoever would listen to him?
He was actually super nice and I felt bad for him.

Bicycle guy died a few yrs ago. I'm not being mean. He really did. I don't remember his name but saw it in the paper. He was nice but kind of creepy regarding young girls.

I think his name was Hollis or something like that. He did die a few years ago. He was not homeless all the time. He told me that he had a place to stay in the winters but generally lived outside during the summer. He was a nice guy. Always came up and said hi to me. I had one of his poems about the Sept 11th attacks at one time but I'm not sure where it ended up.

If I was dumpster man, I would be really pissed at the 4 teens. He only had fame for 1 day. Their episode took away all his glimmer. He was a one and done.

He was nice to me also but a very good friend of mine worked at a few businesses along the by-pass over the years when he was around. She said he was very inappropriate about younger girls. I recall an encounter or two I had with him that would substantiate her claims. Other than that, people who can live like he did kinda have my admiration in that they survive a lot on the streets. I wouldn't last over the weekend LOL

The bicycle man was not homeless. He had an apartment at Plaza Towers. He also had a family, a daughter came to visit him. His lifestyle that was chosen by himself.

This story gets me real excited, because now Greeneville is finally getting some recognition in the national headlines. DUMPSTER MAN!!!
As you are all probably well aware, the citizens of Rogersville and Hawkins County have appeared on Jay Leno and CNN hundreds of times now. There are so many interesting things happening in Hawkins County that the Kingsport Times News has Jeff Bobo permanently stationed there.
In fact, it was only just recently that Hawkins County made the 2nd top story on CNN.com , it was when a couple from Surgoinsville decided to punish their step-daughter by making her drink grape soda until she died. Then they took her to a hospital and told the doctors, "something is wrong with her, she won't move anymore."
Hawkins County is always getting the attention. How many times has Jay Leno talked about Hawkins County? How many people from Hawkins County appeared on Jerry Springer show?
Well, we need to see more of this kind of activity here in Greeneville. Bring the people of this town some national notoriety. Dumpster Man is only the beginning, we need more people like Dumpster Man.
It truly is a sad day when someone gets a thrill out of the misfortune of others. What an imbecile you are.

Saw him interviewed on tv p.m. news segment and he didn't even realize he was the latest celebrity in Greeneville and didn't seem to care. Looked a little bit dazed, but in a happy drunk kind of way. Cheers to him. Glad he wasn't seriously injured.

Oh. Sad to hear he passed away.
He had given a friend of mine a poem once and it wasn't bad at all. I don't remember the context, but I enjoyed it.

He was a nice guy. Always had to smile whenever I saw him pushing his bike (never saw him ride it) with all those cups in the front basket.

You are a serious nut if that is all it takes to get you excited. Greeneville Dumpster Diving.....maybe you should put in a request to have it nominated as an Olympic event, then Greeneville will have notoriety world-wide.

Now that you mention, I never remember seeing him ride it either. Weird.
