How about best team 9-2 in 1982 that team was good

if they could have played in the correct division, I believe that team would have took it all.

They got beat by Oak Ridge, that won the state and they had a much bigger school.

Bowman, Moon, svette, cates, shuffler, rader & a bunch of other studs were on this team

Wes took them to the title game and started both sides of the ball

lets see how great he is in college, I am betting he will have success there as well

What about Tank Black, Roland McCamis, or Benny Rippitoe who played for Alabama. Some of those guys listed above can't shake a stick at these dudes!

What about the 2000 team that went to the state semis to lose a close one to the Maryville dynasty? Gillespie, Dabbs, Quillen, Blue, Story...that was one packed senior class...all 5 went on to play college ball

I agree that the 2000 team was loaded, but they did have some injury problems...Dabbs lightning quick and making plays, Quillen through the air and running a pin-point option attack, Gillespie was an absolute beast on both sides of the ball hands down, Blue a stopper at corner and sure hands at receiver, and Story eating up the run at DE. I remember the Greeneville Sun writing an article about those 5 being the best senior class ever and they also went to state semis in basketball. Great group, but probably no individuals for best ever.

I remember that group, they were full of talent but had some injuries during the season...Dabbs was lightning quick and a playmaker all over the field, Gillespie was hands-down a beast on both sides of the ball, Quillen was dangerous through the air and ran a pin-point option attack at QB, Blue was a stopper at corner and sure-handed at receiver, Story ate up the run at DE. I remember the Greeneville Sun writing an article about them being the best senior class ever...they also went to state semis in basketball. All 5 made one of the all-state teams in football or basketball...great group, but not 1 that was best ever.

I agree best group, not best ind from that class
and best I remember only Gillespie play 4 years of college football and the rest did something else.

I think the next level is important in this pick.

as for brothers looks like you got them covered.

But from my class- the class of 81, you missed our two studs from the fall of 1980
Phil Wright and Alan Barner
Good players
Phil now even works at GHS, lost contact with Barner but my vote goes to Wright!
