Did you ever have to do or say something heartbreaking to someone you deeply cared for in order to save them from ruining their own happiness and lives? Is their happiness worth the loss of a few precious gems called a woman's tears? It doesn't feel very good.....

I don't think that dress really made her look fat. You're going to have to work on your communication skills.
Couldn't resist...
In truth, sorry to hear you're going through something painful. Good luck.

How can you truly determine what anothers happiness is? If they are old enough to make a decision of their own and it doesn't affect you negatively... You shouldn't interfere. I've been told, probably a million times, that if I do something, it will ruin my life... I've done it, every time. Granted, I may not be the most successful or richest around... But I'm happy. And no one else will ever take my happiness from me....:-) it's never too late to admit you've made a mistake and to tell them you're sorry. Good luck in life.(-:

The truth is she could have lost a great deal if we had continued on the path we were on. A GREAT deal.

I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe there will come a time when things will work out in your favor. You will see that even with tears, women are resilient... And they are usually okay. From my own experiences, I had to make those decisions and from time to time, I shed a tear for them... But ultimately, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do... Are you certain that this won't send her into a downward spiral tho?

In the book " I Know You Are But What Am I "it explains that when love goes wrong, nothing goes right.

She more than likely knew what she would've loss, and the decision was hers. Maybe that path is what she wanted at the time.

When two people are involved, it takes two people to make a good decision. Don't know about you, but i couldn't have looked my self in the face for the rest of my life knowing I helped take something wonderful away from her. As the other person said, I had to do what I had to do.(It wasn't me who "judged" your comment.)

I'm curious as to what you would be taking away from her?

I appreciate your outlooks but it appears she possibly thought she already had something wonderful? Not meaning to sound judgmental...just curious as well.

I was as vague and yet as in-depth as I could possibly be with my question. There we're some insightful and well thought out answers for which I'm appreciative. I think I did the right thing, and I hold her friendship with great value so I won't give anything else away. Thanks for letting me vent..... (Georgia Peach: She seems to be just fine)

I'm curious because I have a 'pobby' friend in an eerily similar situation and I swear by the hair in my nose that she is far from okay.

This is by no means a funny statement, but "I swear by the hair in my nose" has me lol.

I hope your friend finds comfort.

Never LET 'em see you cry! Well, unless it's during a sad movie. Sad movie tears tend to have the opposite effect..
