When do they plan to end the search if they're unable to find him???

Per my Rescue friend, they will not stop until they find the body. I truly hope that people realize that there are people volunteering to search, on their own time... Time away from their own families, just to bring some sort of peace to this family. Prayers are still needed to keep all involved safe.:)

I am sure people to realize that, and it is great when the sign up that they realize that is what they are signing up, volunteering, and missing time with family. It takes special people to do what they do, and I pray for all involved they find his body soon, do you know why it is taking so long to find him?

Does anyone know how long it has typically taken to find a drowned body in that area of the river? Has there ever been a case when the body of a drowning victim was never recovered? And, not to seem unempathetic, but have the family members been given lie detector tests to determine if his drowning is potentially a scam???

What part confused you??? Let me explain why I asked the questions that I did... Given that it has been a week & a half, and I already asked when rescuers would give up & was told they would continue searching until they found the body, I think these were fair questions. So, have rescuers searched for months in any other case, or is there a point at which they give it up & hope the body washes up eventually??? And, have there been any cases when the body couldn't be found & never surfaced in that area??? And, there seem to be suspicions, even among the rescuers, so it seems that lie detector tests would be given, in my opinion, given that lives are being risked to try to locate the body of this young man.

There is no "under the dam". Yes it's dam, not damn as you spelled it.

The sand and silt has filled the area behind the dam almost to the top. The water is only a few feet deep now.

If a drowned corpse managed to swim upstream to NC that would be a first...lol

There are underwater caves , debris , sand out the ass . Not to mention the currents. This is the second dangerous river in the world . His family hasn't left. They are waiting till they find him . I commend his family.. I also know several volunteers who are not giving up. They are there everyday.

Hypothetically speaking, there has been a lot of rain and there is just enough current to have possibly pulled the body under and buried it...

It sounds like you are someone who is at least somewhat involved, so I'm interested to know what happened in the area where the search & rescue dogs indicated that his body may be??? Clearly, his body wasn't there, but was there any evidence that it had been at some point???

my thoughts too...lmao...people just spew nonsense all the time now. Like the media...no verification needed anymore as long as it serves that moment in time, and half the idiots watching take it as the gospel without verifying
