Always have been, and will continue to be: Uninvolved in any way! Retailers will continue to run sales--and the consumer lemmings will flock to the stores. Will be interested in this year's assaults/murder/trampling deaths that will hit the news though.

Its nothing more than greed day. It starts thursday when familirs should eat together what so black about friday. As far as I am concerned they ruined it the stores. No deals any how just one day to bleed the shoppers. I usually go but not this year.

Black Friday is named that because with all of the sales made, it puts the companies' "checkbook " balances in the black instead of the red. I read a post or sign that said something that Black Friday is when everybody is out to get what they can and want when they were thankful for everything they had the day before on Thanksgiving.

That is very true. A word of warning: don't just assume that what you are getting is a great deal. Many retailers have items made just for Black Friday and many of them are lesser quality than what you would normally get. This is especially true of televisions and other electronics. Get the model number and do some research. The last two years I have seen tv's that are not for sale during the rest of the year but are rock bottom cheap on Black Friday. That's because they are only manufactured for that day. Just do your research.

Interesting point and may explain the trouble I've experienced with my Black Friday HDTV. I'd never done the BF shopping thing before, but couldn't pass up a chance for this TV back when they were very expensive. This model was offered by Walmart exclusively for Black Friday. I paid approx $600.00 for a TV that was priced at $1400.00 elsewhere. Needless to say, after the warranty had expired I had the TV in the shop. Now I have $1100.00 in it and keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for the info. Should have done better research!

I don't brave the mobs myself nor do I intend to this year but fortunately many of the deals are available online with no tax and free shipping which further sweetens the deal! You may have to wait a few days for the UPS truck to arrive but it's the same deal...less hassle, and you can even shop in your underwear if you want!(-:

Does the word "black" always have to carry some racial overtone? Good grief, folks, we ALL bleed red, you know!

Generally if you see the word "exclusive" it means that the manufacturer only made it for that store for that sale. I don't remember the exact make and models but best buy and Walmart both had tv's last year that were rediculously low priced. I went to the manufacturers website and put in the make and model and both came up as exclusive for that store. They will usually have a similar model (albeit better) that they are comparing the sale model to.

Who stands in line to buy Chinese crap electronics? Make sure you opt for the 3 year warranty if you buy some of that junk.

Going to watch this TV at Amazon to see if they run it on a gold box special. LED is the way to go and this one has 4.5 stars.

Cyber Monday is the way for me. Crowds make me nervous. I'm not the type that would enjoy being trampled for a $10 toaster.
Does anyone know of GNC does anything for Black Friday? I wouldn't mind going there for some shakers and protein powder. That is, if the sale was worth that effort.

The 32 inch iSymphony LED TV I bought last year on special at Amazon has been trouble free. I know of 5 TV's bought last year at Amazon and no problems with any of them. 720 p 60hz is better picture than the old TV I used to have and my eyes just ain't as good as they used to be.
