Greencastle Borough Council to make sidewalks a priority

Greencastle Borough Council is making sidewalks one of the top issues to be addressed in 2010, according to council President Charles Eckstine.

The borough should require sidewalks for all residences, businesses and municipalities. No exceptions.

Once you unleash exceptions, you are only going to open up the borough for lawsuits and additional bickering.

Agree 100%. Once exceptions are made everyone will want to opt out and council will have to make decisions on each individual case. Lawsuits would be the norm.

the burrorgh really needs to spend their time on other issues. They (the people making the decisions) are bunch of stupid asses who couldn't tell the difference between a mouse and an elephant. I used to run that area for years and never had a problem and it is a proven fact that roads are easier on your knees because they are a more forgiving surface. Everytime I run thru town I see more people walking on the streets than on the sidewalks anyway. I run 2000 miles a year so this is quite often. Yes most of my running is around Greencastle or the surrounding area.

What in the hell would a sidewalk do at the end of Williamson because it would end 10 yards later. That is what happens when speds make the rules.
