I am interested in moving to Goodlettsville! I love TN and especially Nashville, however I have only been there one time in my life and until last week I didn’t even know about Goodlettsville. Would some one please care to tell me about your town/county? Tell me all you can good or bad I would like to hear about it, is there good jobs, is the town booming, what is the farthest distance you have to travel to stores like Walmart, Lowes or Home Depot! Any information would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks so much in advance!

Originally from Illinois, we've been in White House (Just North of Goodlettsville) for the last 14 years. I'll do my best to help.

Interstate 65 runs N & S through Goodlettsville so heading out of town is a quick escape. Also the airport is 20 or so minutes away if you need to fly out of town. My understanding is that the area is mostly blue collar but there are some white collar jobs as well. Nashville is minutes away and the quietness of the country is also near. There are a lot of restaurants and hotels there mainly because of the interstate travelers. Walmarts are in Hendersonville, White House, & Madison which I believe is the closest to Goodletsville. The town is also "famous" for the antique stores on Dickerson Road. There is a Home Depot near Rivergate Mall a few minutes away and a Lowes a bit further down on Gallatin Rd. There was a tornado that blew through about 6 years ago or so. It made quite a mess.

Here are a few links that may help educate you more on the area:

Hope that helps ;)

Dave thank you so much for responding, I have been on all the websites I could find but I just wanted people's personal opinions. Do you know if that area got flooded when the Nashville area did a few years ago?

I'm in Greenbrier and what I've learned since moving here 2 years ago is that you want to live in the Sumner County side of Goodlettsville. Stay away from the Davidson County side is what they say. I think that has to do for tax and school purposes.

Thank you so much for responing also (transplant), Would either of you know what the crime rate is in Goodlettsville? I know its probably like most places in the world now-a-days but just wanting to know what I would be getting myself into :)

Most of Goodlettsville is lower crime rate until you get into the Goodlettsville areas that border Rivergate Mall which then suffer from spillover crimes from the mall area and Madison. Millersville is also considered Goodlettsville for postal mail purposes,is on the Sumner County side, and has its own police force versus Davidson County Goodlettsville which is serviced by Metro Nashville PD. That may help you search for crime information.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Aquarius

You're very feisty and energetic and there's a lot you want to achieve. You'll get rather impatient if anyone stands in your way. A close emotional relationship will either be sexy and exciting beyond belief, or bad-tempered and tetchy. If you're in a grumpy mood, try to work out why - and what would improve matters. One thing that's bound to help is physical exercise, because it will burn off any excess nervous energy.
