Lori,
I met you not too long ago at my house. I am so sorry for the loss of JR and I applaud what you are attempting to do for all of our children, our family members and for us that travel from Robertson to Davidson every single day. I lived on Hwy 41 for over 20 years and I've seen many accidents where people lost their lives on that hwy. Does anyone even remember that Hwy 41 also crosses back into Sumner at Williamson Road, and then back to Davidson at the old KOA? We should NOT have a battle about whose job it is to respond to any accident, but instead the CLOSEST EMS should respond. A doctor gives his oath to treat everyone, a hospital will treat anyone...it's time the EMS systems treat WHOEVER NEEDS it.

I knew of JR and had seen him at GHS but didn't personally have an aquaintance with him but my child was his classmate. This single incident will be forever in his memory due to the circumstance that he came upon the wreck seconds after it happened, and saw the aftermath of this tragedy. I thank you, Lori, for fighting for OUR children even after losing your own. I pray that this fight is one legislature will never forget.

Thank you, Lori for all you have done. I wish you comfort, but I realize that nothing can replace your loss.

Fault is such a strong word. It was totally an accident but the nissan driven by mr ballentine crossed over the lanes and hit the red car head on.

You are right and I apologize to both families for even asking that question. I was insensitive to even ask although I didn't intend to be. Again, I sincerely apologize for any pain I have caused family members.

no need to apologize as you didnt mean any harm. you was just wondering why the wreck happened and thats normal. That poor young man didnt intend to cross over and hit anyone it was just an unfortunate accident. The young man that lived through it and lost his wife is healing still. maybe one ay we will understand why these things happen.

you right fault is a strong word but now there is a lawsuit trying to put the fault on the ems service.I can understand pushing to change the laws and let the closest ambulance goto the scene but no amount of money will change the outcome.

No money will not change the outcome but it may make officals change there policy. Fault of the accident doesnt matter they all still deserve the closest care like everyone does

I pray that the legislature of our state/county will be able to see that this is a serious issue we have spotted. Jr was a good friend of mine and hate that his life was taken at a young age. I see many teenagers everyday and see that they do not pay attention as they are driving, if an accident similar to this happens again, I pray that this will be solved by the time it happens. God has plans for all of us in the world and some have already done what God wanted them to do. I love Lori and Jr more than anything in this world and wish that, that day could be redone.

Sueing to change the laws will make officials work on changing the laws but paying out hundreds of thousands of dollars will delay the upgrade of equiptment and getting new devices that will help in the aid of saving others lives.greed is a sad thing. the young man that lost his wife didnt have a bit of insurance but he dealt with what happened as best he could. Lots of prayers and help from family and friends got him through this unfortunate event.I too wish we could have that day back and change what happened but unfortunatelly we cant.. I truly understand how bad the loss is and I cant imagine losing a child in such a horiffic way but i also truly believe that the paramedics did everything in their power to save all 3 victims.
