They ''repaired ' my old 2009 Silverado . They didn't do a very good job of refinishing the truck. In fact they failed to wet sand my driver side inner fender. I'm guessing they used Bondo instead of cutting the steel out and replacing it like they should have. I use Crain and Extreme Body shops now.

I've dealt with quite a few. In my opinion, it's not so much the shop that makes or breaks the quality of work as it is the budget and time constraints that they have to work with. If insurance companies are involved (which they are in many cases), depending on the company, they might have to cut back on the budget. For instance, one company (who advertises in blue and white with that annoying woman who always wears white on TV) will only pay so much for a repair, and many times they'll source a part from a junkyard somewhere as opposed to replacing with new OEM parts that actually fit like they're supposed to. This saves the insurance company some money at the expense of possibly bad workmanship. They also dictate how much they're paying. If the shop's estimate is $3000, lot of times they'll (the insurance company) will come back with a $2200 estimate for example, and they make it hard to negotiate. That means the body shop either (1) charges the $3000 and asks the customer to come up with the difference or (2) they cut the cost of the repair somehow to match it. Cutting the cost is the easiest, or more specifically the most convenient option, but it also means cutting the quality in most cases. Keep that in mind when choosing your insurance provider.
