We ordered one on July 1, 2008. Were told it would be delivered at the end of August (8 weeks). Told our distributor it would take 2 more weeks (Sept 15). Haven't heard anything since. Don't know if it has been made, shipped ect. Get people on the phone in AR, but so far, no one has answers.

I ordered April 24, 2008 and still don't have it. Getting pretty fed up, thinking about hiring a lawyer. I live in Michigan, winter is knocking on the door right now, frost almost every morning. So late now I can't even buy a different brand, everybody is backed up until January. Same thing when I call the factory, if I do get through, I get a song and dance about being behind and someone will call me back, etc, etc, etc. And yet they are still advertising delivery by the end of December?????????

Check with Nature's Comfort - basically a knockoff of the Shaver design - they have them in stock

I just got my Shaver 165 hooked up. My experience with the transaction was shaky. I ended up borrowing a trailer from a friend a going to Salem, AR to pick up my heater. From what I could see, and what my guess is, is that they have a problem with delivery. It seems that they schedule a unit to be manufactured as they schedule for delivery and not the other way around.

My problem getting my unit delivered is that I live west of Salem (in Oklahoma) and all their scheduled deliveries were heading east, northeast, and north. They basically told me that I was not going to get it delivered and set on a pad by them. My only options were to let them schedule delivery to me by common carrier (e.g. Yellow Freight) or to come and pick it up myself.

I can tell you that they I personally saw about 15 units ready to be shipped with customer's names on tags. I saw another 25-35 units ready to be sided and trimmed but otherwise finished. I saw another 30-40 units ready to be attached to frames and many more units in production.

Bottom line, you must keep calling and calling their telephone, like calling a radio station running a contest, until you get someone to talk to. They pretty much won't call back because they are just swamped. If you want your furnace anytime soon and they won't schedule you for delivery, ask them about shipping it or picking it up.

Be sure and have your site prepared for your furnace unless you can easily pick up and move 1600 pounds. They cam make you a steel pallet ($75) to get under it with forks. Otherwise, drop a chain down the chimney and pick it up by the chimney.

Good Luck.

I ordered on May 29,2008. Furnace is paid for, was to be delivered in Sept. Still waiting! I tried 3 different phone numbers today, all went to voice mail and said mail boxes are full. If I don't get an answer by weeks end, I'm contacting a lawyer.

Problems with Shaver/Ordered stove in July with outside leadtime of 7 weeks. They take your money and then don't answere the phone. Lost valuable time trying to obtain information. We caneled our order mid October. We ordered from very professional people who carry Natures Comfort wood stoves. Now we are concerned about our refund because Shaver is so unreliable and will not tell you the truth.

If you got it from Weld Rite, then you are dealing with employees and management with drug problems. I know some of them personally from when I used to live there, and that's not saying much.

I'm sorry, you must work there. I'm astonished that you don't care enough about a town full of dopeys to stand up for what's right. All these people are pissed cuz the folks are so brainflusted that they can't make production. I'm telling them why! There's nothing wrong with that! If I know where some wrong doings are going on, the BBB does, too! Also, I've always had a problem with speaking the truth to people that I think deserve it, so hey, if you have a problem with that, then I hate to be you. Sounds like either you like to be lied to, or you are the liar yourself.

Ordered mine the end of April, took 8 weeks and 6 phone calls, I think the market took off with the high heating fuel cost this year and thye are just having a hard time keeping up. When they delivered mine they only had one driver, and there was 4 stoves on the trailor heading east. Yes it took longer then they said but the wait was worth the 2 to 3 thousand I saved. Have had it fired up for the last week and doing great. Good luck

Nature's Comfort is a knock-off of Shaver but is $1300 more and there is zero experience behind that company.

They are only a year old and have furnaces being built in four different locations. I don't think that's good because where is the oversight?

I'd rather be with a company that's been around 36 years and will be there to back up their warranty. I see that Nature's Comfort even copied Shaver's warranty word for word but will they be there when it comes time to get something fixed??

I bought a Shaver to heat my new log house and will get it soon!(Ordered July)

There is no reason to bad mouth people that are really trying hard to get the job done. They in fact are building more buildings and bought another. They are uping production to get these stoves out. Its not that they are on drugs its that they have had a lot of technical issues and no they are not taking people for their money or anything else. How would you like it if everyone bad mouthed you over the internet to try and discredit you when you were really trying hard to do your job. Like the other girl said watch your mouth. It will bite you in the you know what someday. What goes around comes around especially if you do not know what you are talking about.

I agree with your comments. I live in Northern Wisconsin and purchased my Shaver stove August 6, 2008 and recieved it October 3, 2008. Some of the same issues that are being posted I have also experienced. They are over whelmed and they are trying hard. The problem is that they are not dealing with the customer service side of these delays. By not responding to my phone calls or others, we are forced to come to our own conclusions. They have an obligation to the customer to communicate. This whole experience has made me question the warrenty. So far I have enjoyed my stove and it is keeping my house very warm in Wisconsin. I worry about going through Shaver if I have an issue though. I don't want to deal with the brick wall again.

I posted a month ago about getting the run around on deliery of my Shaver furnace. As of today, 5 1/2 MONTHS after ordering, I still don't have it. I was assured last week, Nov 5th, that it would be on the truck on Nov 7th. I called 5 times today trying to findout IF it was shipped or not. No answers, just the same old run around, put on hold then disconnected,we'll call back... no call, nobody knows anything. I wish I'd never heard of Weld Rite or Shaver furnaces. I would NEVER recommend them.
