An impressive little news bite this one. Protostars are a little documented bit of the stellar zoo so this ine is interesting.

The mass of the protostar is not listed (I may have missed it), but a lot of other bits are there.

The most likely is that it is an eventual A or F dwarf still in the early accretion stage and interesting because it is a young version of the usual field stars seen in bright clusters or the general stellar field.

The fact that we can see it indicates that it is about to pop out of its dust cloud and turn into a classical proplyd as seen in the Orion Nebula theta orionis cluster. Proplyds in the Theta orionis cluster however were cut off by the radiation from Theta1C before they drifted out of the nebula (cut off in prime), whereas Mc Neil's star appears to be a case of the star munching through its gas supply without external interference.

Keep up the good work.

According to the scriptures, Earth formed from material rich in water. Our Creator said for a firmament or a vast dome to spread out into the midst of water, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God said, let the waters under the firmament be gathered together unto one place, and let dry land appear, and it was so. God called the firmament Heaven. The dry land is earth.

A firm solidity beat and soread out under a vast dome.

Hmm interesting A big bang advocate.

Is blanket still alive? I miss him, he was really amusing.

The big bang was a single event that just popped the universe into existence as it is. All at once it was fully formed and functional. Light came at the very instant the universe began, and then everything was ordered from that point, and given direction in a very short time. It did not take many billions of so called light years to form it in it's totality.

Nice answer.

The model is based of course on Christianity implying an exponential decay curve with + or - according to the nature of the universe.

Problem is that as the "big bang" is an event horizon; it is hard to see to...(or past).

Current evidence is that at major distance the exponential decay of the big bang (fast in its early years) is not showing up. This has resulted in "epicycles similar to the Ptolemaic solar system showing up (dark energy etc.). Instead of a big bang, the event horizon of the early universe may be remarkably large and that we only see a small part of it; (everybody go aarrgh.). The implication is that the event horizon of the early universe is not in fact a point and that no big bang actually occurred (making most of the post big bang ideas (such as inflation) merely economic add ons not required in reality.

The true nature of the increasing redshift with time may be as simple as quantum entanglement between a photon and the mass (usually an electron) that emitted it. In its most extreme form the increase in redshift with time may be a flat gradient. at which point the big bang model does what an overinflated balloon does.

What we see with increasing distance may be a lot larger and older than we have been previously led to believe from our local neighbourhood. That said: a study of white warf cooling curves in the Globular cluster Messier 4 gave an age of 14.3 Billion years (a bit of an embarassment when the age of the universe by big bang calculations was listed as 13.7 billion max).

Keep watching that space... It could be very interesting in future, wonder if the theocrats will do the same to the scientists this time round as happened to Galileo using Tycho's model of the solar system.

Remember! the model with the least epicycles wins by default.

Have a nice day: Ag
