Could someone tell me where is the best places
to play? I play all kinds of music' mostly blue
I also write my own music' I'm 22 and ready to rock

It depends on what you are looking for. There are a number of open mikes around town, and they are usually listed in MetroPulse. There are also a number of restaurants around town that prefer acoustic acts because louder bands make it hard for their patrons to have conversations. There is a blues open mike on Tuesdays, but I can't remember where it is just now.

If you're looking for a band or other musicians, you could try Craig's List or bandmix.com . Some venues occasionally call for performers on Craig's list as well.

Writing your own music is rewarding on a personal level, but until you have an album to promote, most venues will expect you to play recognizable and popular covers. My band is just finishing up our first album at Shed55 Studios, and I can endorse it with confidence. Dave made us sound fabulous!

You might want to get in touch with the folks at WDVX about playing the Blue Plate Special. Go for the Friday show at the Square room if you can, but any of them will give you great exposure with both a live and a radio audience.
