I was there....this was very sad. My husband watched her take her last breath. No seatbelt, & purse in her lap. Life is too short to text, look for something in your purse or fiddle around with the radio while driving! My heart goes out to her family!!

Was this somewhere between Allentown Road and Portzer Road? We were coming from the turnpike and they were making everyone get off 663 at Allentown Road. I wondered what had happened to shut down the road. How very sad.

I watched the fire police directing divers around the crash scene, and it was appaling to see those people out in the hot sun working hard to keep the traffic moving, when at least every third car's driver was talking on a cell phone and in one case, the young lady was texting on her phone and the officer had to blow his whistle several times then walk over to her and tell her to move, at witch time she started to sceam obsenities at that guy.
please don,t text and drive, some people should not even talk on a cell phone while they are driving, please stay alert around accidents, you could very well be the next victim of a fatal accident.

It is a shame that the driver did not survive. The emergency responders are to be commended for their quick response, organized and professional handling of a difficult situation.

I actually got yelled at by one of the officers on the scene. I WAS on my cell phone trying to get directions as I am not from that area and the detour was not clearly marked. When I was yelled at, I was actually at a 4 way stop....looking both ways for traffic. Yes, the officer was directing traffic but I still double check before pulling out. He YELLED at me....I was just trying to find my way home. I dont normally talk on my phone and drive, but in this case I had to since the detour wasnt marked. I am very sorry for this loss of life. My thoughts go out to her family.

I bet he wished he could have shoved that phone up your a ss. I know when I see someone on one when they are driving, I tend to want to smash it.

If you were so lost, pull the f*** over and get your stupid directions.

Nobody (Fire, Police, or EMS) should get so wound up and excited at an incident that they can't control their actions. When one of the first responders demonstrates that he/she must resort to yelling to control a situation, it only diminishes their authority and distracts the civilians. It doesn't matter how big the fire is or how serious the crash is, yelling and screaming is never acceptable.

When driving up to an emergency scene you need to get off the phone or one tragedy could turn into two, I have seen Police officers scream at motorists for not paying attention while directing traffic ,Why?,because the Driver will have a phone up to there ear or they are playing with the radio,or something else is going on and they are not paying attention. and sometimes that's what it takes to get some people to stop or turn left or right or whatever. PLEASE stay alert and if you see flashing lights ,Red,Blue,or Yellow, slow down, and stay alert and get off the phone.

I totally agree with you. But they shouldn't be on the phone while driving to begin with. This young lady that died by all reports had her handbag on her lap, which means she was looking for something. I'm sure she thought that nothing would happen just like we all do. Unfortunatly this time she was wrong. Lets all learn from this so your family isn't the next to have to deal with something like this.

Sometimes they must be yelled at. Only worried about themselves and where "They are going" you have cops , fire police and medics , fireman in the road and it's all about them and where they have to be! Go past the scene or detour and stop at a mini mart and ask directions. You don't have to scream or yell. An abrupt point, and silent stare will get trough to most morons.

She said nothing rude or obnoxious in that post.

If you're offended by someone saying people shouldn't text or look for things while driving, then you must do it yourself. That means you're a menace on our roads. I hope when you get killed or maimed, you only do it to yourself.

Well boohoo, you got yelled at. Pull off the road and look up your directions if you're lost. How's that for an idea? People should really take a mental exam before getting a license too.
