You apparently forgot about the first amendment to the federal constitution. Don't wish for a government, wherein speech will be limited, because sites like Topix will cease to exist.

No it shouldn't be because it is taking away people's rights. Young people that listen to rap are probably somewheres else saying the exact same that you are that jazz or whatever you listen to should be banned. Everyone can't get what they want; deal with it or go somewheres else

The hate music played constantly pumps up the teens to do dastardly deeds....gangs...1st amendment fine but it never was meant to make legal porn etc
Can you imagine our founding fathers saying "yeah man go to it."

Porn is legal thank god, or guys might get stuck with uptight, wrinkled old sea hags such as you.

I don't care for this type of music myself. I feel that it can influence the minds of teens. However, it is protected by the 1st Amendment and cannot be publicly banned.

I was at Sugar Hill when some guys came in from Chicago and told us "they" didn't want the black youth of America to have a positive message!
YES, I Think vulgar Rap should be banned - we have a dictionary
full of words that music can be put to that aren't offensive to
anyone who hears it - especially when your just walking down the street and you are forced to listen to any foul language that some
person who has no respect for other peoples rights.

Not banned, but discouraged. I hate it myself as well as all racial / ethnic hatred from all sectors and colors.

What happened to the most 'liberal' part of the 1970s when it was "hip to be cool" and easier to just get along. Also, why did 'weed culture' seem to promote this peaceful attitude back then, but by the '80s,'90s and '00s seem to sometimes exacerbate tensions?

You'd fully expect this phenomenon from drugs like crack or crystal meth, but weed? C'mon "brothers and sisters" of ALL colors: "Hateth not unless someone gives you a damn good reason to do so first because thou art the evil one if you do so otherwise".
