Alcohol + Moron + Gun = Bad outcome...always. First rule of gun safety remains...."Point weapon only at things you wish to shoot."

""It's an unusual case; it's not something we see often," Tymkowych said. "It's likely that alcohol led to the inappropriate handling of the weapon, hence the discharge of the gun and the charges." (sounds accidental)

With that said we are going to charge him with felony charges of attempted manslaughter and second-degree assault, as well as prohibited use of a weapon.(sounds intent)

Which one is it?

Guilty of stupidity, period.
Carelessness coupled with stupidity and alcohol will bring the (attempted) manslaughter and assault charge. Had he killed the man would he not have been charged with manslaughter, which essentially is accidental murder?

What the "F"! You have been drinking, you pull out a handgun and point it at the victim and pull the trigger not once but twice. Then your excuse is that you thought the safety was on? I think the intent was proven once he pointed the gun at the victim and pulled the trigger. Nothing good ever happens when you mix booze and a weapon. His dad was a neurosurgeon in Duluth, it's apparent the dad's brains did not rub off on his moron son!

the nra stance would be. keep all your guns locked in a safe place, unloaded, unless you intend on using them. don't drink and play with guns, even if you are doing something as lifethreatening as checking football scores on a computer.
This event has nothing to do with anything the nra stands for. It is not a "gun rights" issue, it is a "drunk morons that hurt each other issue". IF they did not have a gun, they would have crashed a shopping cart off the roof of thier playhouse or huffed some gasoline while smoking pot.....

I could not agree more. This has absolutely nothing to do with the NRA or responsible gun ownership. This is about 2 fools that did not have the good sense to do the only safe thing after 6 beers and a few shots.... take a nap.

I agree, the NRA should not even be a part of this conversation/thread. Guns don't kill, its the dumb a**es that are handling them. And WHY would you point a gun to anyone if you didn't intend to harm them? You NEVER point a gun you don't intend to shoot and ALWAYS check to see if the gun is loaded/unloaded whether you plan to pull the trigger or not.
Tell me when this thread is updated!

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Pisces

The last thing you want to do is to picking over every little thing. Instead, you have one eye permanently on the clock and you're trying to cram as many activities into the day as possible. This will be good fun and you'll enjoy keeping up the momentum, but beware of a possible tendency to become reckless or to try to cut corners in order to save time, because this will be self-defeating in the long run.
