One needs to consider the sources of this story. Wendy Kreitzman is married to Ralph Kreitzman, a Village trustee who is in the Better Government Party, which is about to conclude a hotly contested election for trustee; the mayor is founder of the opposition Village Preservation Party. Ms. Kreitzman will allow the BGP people to say anything without proof in letters to the editor and in their election ads, but requires extensive documentation by the opponents. And then she prints a front page article with the word "Allegedly" in the title? She has no journalistic ethics, and is obviously proud to uphold the flag of yellow journalism. Karen Rubin, quoted in the article, is editor of the Great Neck News, the other paper in Great Neck, and has a free office provided by BGP stalwart David Lurie.

The hacks from the Better Government Party are acting on behalf of the former Mayor( Falk), who wanted to build a 1200 unit apartment complex on East Shore Road, on the old Walbaums site. In order to do this, they need to replace the sewage treatment plant, which cannot handle the burden of all of the plumbing from the proposed apartment complex. The treatment plant would be relaced by a sewer diversion sceme, where the sewage would be sent to Seaford.
You can imagine how happy the residents are to know that these elitist hacks want to dump their waste on them. The construction of this sewage diversion would also creat a long-term disruption of the normal traffic pattern along Northern Boulevard, effectivelt pissing off everyone in the whole area. The residents do not want this, which is why Falk was voted out of offoce. But these trustees from the Village of Great Neck are undeterred in their plan to screw the residents and line a few developers' pockets. Other responsible officials from Nassau County and New York State need to intervene as soon as possible, regardless of the outcome of this election.
The bottom line is that Ms. Kreitzman is running the GN Record with a yellow streak and she should be ashamed of herself, as she is a slap in the face of decent and fair Journalism.

Please correct the misinformation in this posting: The Great Neck News was never provided a free office by the Better Government Party. The newspaper rented space. This is a defamatory statement.
