Susquehanna, County PA - Either let an Armed Criminal kill you, or the DA will!
This DA just can't seem to get his story straight, a week ago he claims the "victims" were unarmed. Now the Sate Police release that they had two Firearms, at least one of them was shot while holding a LOADED Shotgun with a hole shot in it! Are you trying to tell me the DA didn't know that a week ago??? Now he says this "may be a capital case"?? Who elected this guy?? This guy scares the hell out of me!

Let me get this strait, this guy is surrounded by two "veterans" who blocked the road with their mustang, who had weapons,ONE in his hand when he was shot! Now the da is charging the guy trapped in his house by at least one, possibly two armed soldiers? What were their intentions? I guess the Da thinks Mr Thomas should have waited till they shot him in his own home first? What have we become when a man cannot defend himself?

Do you have police in PA? If you see someone outside your property while you are safely inside your home, call the cops. Also you are stating the solider part after the fact. Mr. Thomas couldn't have possibly known they were trained soldiers. He shot one man holding a weapon and the other in cold blood.

Yes, state police which are at least a half of an hour away if they could even find his house! But it wouldn't help anyway cause the intruders had the road blocked. One of these fine folks has nine felony charges and was out on bail! Really... What would you do?

Cousin or no cousin..... why would two guys with criminal records BLOCK a road and walk all the way up the hill through the woods to get to the house? I am sorry, i know the property and folks drive right up if they want to get to the shop. They were armed and dangerous and a man has a right to defend himself. And as for military - DISHONORABLE DISCHARGE ...says it all

Are you kidding me? All the way up a hill and through woods. It was like a driveway and a couple of trees. They were going to find out why their car was shot, not the first one Loyd has shot btw! Im pretty sure the state police use the shooting range and had no trouble finding the place as my brother lay dead on the side of the road. So until everything is said and done with the trial don't drag my brother and his friend through the mud.

So do tell, why didn't these "brave soldiers" follow propper procedure and let the police handle the situation? And what gave them ANY RIGHTS to be on HIS fathers property armed with guns? Do you think they had any rights to be there armed? Seems to me from reports that they decided to take the law into their own hands, and got delt what they had in store for him.

If they were so sure they knew where the "alleged shot" to their car came from...WHY did they not report it to police while still in hallstead?
And if they knew where it came from why did they go home first to get guns if their only intention was to "question" him? They could have done that right on the spot as it happened. Doesn't sound et al to me to be the actions of supposed war heroes. IMHO....

anytime that anyone is killed it is sad. but the only ones having sympathy for these two are family and friends. everyone else who knew them say they were dirt bags...including those with whom they "served" ...and remember one crucial fact, thomas did not purue them. they trespassed on HIS RESIDENCE! and were ARMED! guess that doesn't matter to some...

I can't even believe some of you liberal idiots are having this conversation. First of all, let the trial take place and bring out all of the information and facts and then pass judgement. I am sure both sides will try to slander the other side with dishonorable discharges (haneous by the way!), and prior drug records and misdemeanors. But the bottom line is there is probably no competent jury that will not exonerate Lloyd Thomas. He was essentially surrounded and trapped in his house by two gunmen. I'd be locked and loaded if it were me. We'll probably see a lot more details during the trial, some relevant, and some irrelevant, but in the end the Castle Law will be tested and should cover him.

I know exactly where they live and have been there many times in my life. Most people don't know the road is there but it is a very approachable home and family. You don't just go there and block the road off unless you are there intending to do something illicit.

Yes, Hope fully the Truth will Come Out. Surrounded, Ha!

Rumor has it he is out on Bail. Another Rumor is that he is up on the Hill behind his fathers house in the Cabin.

A little close to an arsenol of Weapons IMO.

I call one at the front door and one at the back door with loaded weapons "surrounded", regardless if there was an incident that promted someone to show up at your house armed. I heard he was somewhere else but no doubt he probaly has access to weapons. Not sure if they pull your carry permit when something like this happens until trial is resolved and restrict access to any firearms. Something prompted them allowing him to post bail, my guess is the prosecution's case weakened after the investigation progressed.

One of the Victims was shot in the head was at least 25 feet from the house. The other that alleged had a shotgun was shot in the hand and the gun, and then in the back running away, was a good distance from the house.
Posting bail at 10% of $100,000 sounds way too lienient for a Capital Case regardless.

my husband served with both of these men. i knew them both a long time ago. while in the army they were great guys. i lived with josh and his then wife teresa and my deceased husband. i have no ill words to speak of either of the men. how people can put down men who were just killed is beyond me. if you personally knew these men and thought they were scum bags thats fine but you don't blast it on the internet. they have friends and families and in times like these they need support and compassion. i haven't talked to josh since 2009 and just ran across this as i was looking him up. saddens me deeply. when i last talked to him he and his gf had just had a son and he was so happy with life. i will have his family and young children in my thoughts and prayers along with alvarez's family. the alvarez i knew was always making everyone laugh. so sad.
