This stuff makes me laugh. You all assume we're guilty without knowing the facts behind it. Just because a person is arrested doesn't make them automatically guilty. But because of the news media you believe everything you read. It's real easy to set someone up by using lies, and half truths, to save their own asses from the frying pan. Maybe some of you should look into the facts behind addiction before you start calling us names. Addiction sucks, I know this firsthand. Being an addict, however, doesn't make me a drug dealer. I hate the fact that I got addicted, and I hate the fact that you people spew out this garbage with no thought behind it. what kind of addict sells the shit they'd rather do themselves? The answer is none. Use your real names to talk smack about me, just once.
Hey Raven, I know all about addiction.

Then you know what I went through, still go through. Ive been totally clean for 1 week. Thankfully, I have no urge to use. Ive been trying to escape it for over a year, and now I'm finally beginning to feel human again. I'm making amends with family members I've treated poorly, and trying to better myself. It just sucks that it all came to this to make me realize that I was slowly killing myself.

It's convenient for you to seek help now that you have been busted. And are you also addicted to all of the weed you have been selling for years? Hmmmm...seems to me that now that you have been caught you want to be the victim. Shame, shame....you've known right from wrong for a long time.

I'm happy that he is facing his addiction head on, shame on you for passing judgement on someone and something you obviously have no clue about. It's hard to get off pills, smoking cigarettes, caffeine, alcohol, etc...all of you people judging on this website should be ashamed and take a step back an realize it could be you they are talking about and I'm sure you would protect and stand up for yourself or someone you know. I applaud his honesty I wish him luck, this county is in the hole and it needs help. There is nothing here for people to do and I think people need to put more effort in finding positive ways to better our lives rather than come on here and belittle people for a mistake they made. Good luck Tom and any other addicts, I hope you all find what ou are looking for( happiness, love, meaning):)

First of all, you should take a step back and realize that it would never be me....I chose not to be a participant in illegal activity. It was a choice, I controlled it. If he is facing his addiction it's because he got caught supporting it and is probably looking at spending some time behind bars.

Second of all, you should step back and realize that a lot of people put effort into bettering our lives... everyday. This county is in "the hole" as you say because there are far too many people who are taking drugs, drinking excessively, having children out of wedlock with no job to support them.

Also, there is plenty here to do...there are many organizations to do volunteer work with, there is a great movie theater, there is a multitude of outdoor trails to walk, rivers to fish and a school with great sports teams to cheer on. I am tired of people telling me I am not "supportive" of my county and the people who make topix headlines, it's time for all of you to get off the pity train....it's going nowhere.

what on earth did he do to you people to cause such hate? nobody is perfect and you sure as hell dont even come close. why cant you just let him be? answer because you are poisoned on the inside and the only way to make yourself feel better is to try to make others feel worse. hate to break it to you but that kind of rot doesnt go away with a few insults.

What does an addict do, was a question to make people dislike, or even hate them. An addict starts out not really meaning to hurt anyone. They start for many reasons. Peer pressure, wanting to fit in,wanting to live up to a siblings or peers reputation, are some. They don't think of how it can affect themselves, or family, and friends. As the addiction grows ,the addict becomes less responsive to those, who love, or care for them. They will start the lies to try to cover themselves. The hurting then really begins. Then comes the trigger, that causes the addict to realize he/she is an addict. When the truth comes out, there is more hurt, and even distrust from family, and friends because of the lies. They feel like their trust, and caring have been denied, and cast aside. Now the long walk it takes to become clean begins, and the addict must walk it pretty much alone. Some of the friends, and family will walk away from the addict, because of the hurt. The ones who remain will call the addict brave for coming forward ,and starting the walk. I disagree that they are brave. If it wasn't for a trigger then they may not have stopped, or wanted to stop. So addiction starts with being selfish, and ends with being selfish. What I mean by that is you have to want to get clean for it to happen. Many addicts will relapse for selfish reasons. They get a craving for what they are addicted, and disregard how it affects others, and do it again. The real brave person to me is the person who stands by the addict through it all, and offers help along the way. The other person I applaud is the one who sees this ahead of time, and stays away from the addictive substance. This is my opinion only and I expect others to disagree with it.

Perhaps if he were to go away quietly and take the punishment given and get himself clean without all the fanfare and attention then people might stop commenting. There are too many people like him on Topix, seeking attention and crying "victim" when someone comments negatively on his posts. If you don't want to be in the limelight then do us all a favor and stay off Topix.

What makes ones drug problem the tax payers problem is nothing more than the pointless war on drugs. If the law would stop playing parent an d not make personal choices for people in regards to their freedom these issues would not exist.
