<quoted text>I agree. "Real Christians are not supposed to be mean and hateful but they ARE to be judgmental. It's just that so many don't know what type of judging they are supposed to do and judge everything they see. Judge as to discern and make a choice between two or more choices, actually. Personal agenda is a huge problem but you can't group "all" Christians into the same box. As far as St. Peter, who knows where that came from but it ain't Peter that you meet at the gate. But you're right, There will be a rude awakening when they stand in front of God and He says:

Matthew 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore "by their fruits" ye shall know them.
21 ΒΆ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will "I" (Jesus) profess unto them, I never knew you: "depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

So you see that even Jesus doesn't group all believers into one box but judges between the two, just as we are to do except we cannot condemn and sentence. We are only to be aware of the difference and as a Christian we are to try and correct and help those who are doing NOT according to the ways Jesus taught but instead have their own agenda. But Jesus is the one Who has the final say so, not us. Who knows if they may change next week or next year and do what is right. How would people like it if they were sentenced to jail before the trial?

I don't mind people criticizing Christians who have their own agenda and play Christian but I DO mind grouping ALL Christians into the same box.

Guarantee that you judge countless times a day. I'll stick with what I said. Without being judgmental you would wonder around aimlessly every day, not knowing what to do, eat, where to go, who to speak to, or who is even telling you truth. You just simply don't understand the difference between judging and condemning. It's really pretty simple :)

I don't recall anywhere that Christ said to mind your own business in the way you are meaning it. Source?

1 Thessalonians 4:10-12 (AMP): 9Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.

10And in fact, you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more. Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, 12so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

Btw judging other people and judging what to wear or eat are hardly the same things. It's asinine that you would even suggest that.

I haven't read all the posts on this topic but I want to comment anyway. I used to go to church regularly. Twice on Sunday and one time on Wednesday. Went to the same church for almost two years. I have never felt more tension anywhere else. Some members would snub visitors when it wasn't a homecoming or some sort of dinner. I run into those members now and they turn their back like they've never seen me in their life. Some tell some pretty big lies that could ruin others. Some make their kids hate. I returned one time after I quit going to that church. The pastor wouldn't even shake my hand as we were leaving. I know every church has the 'show' Christians but so many are full of them. All they want to do is gossip and judge others and send them to hell. I'm not a church goer after all that, but, I do often think about it. Then I talk myself right out of going for the simple reason...I've been judged my whole life and I'm tired of it. Where can a good person go to find some normal down to earth in a church?

I can relate to all you said. I have my past churches that were as the ones you mentioned. It's taken me since around 1990 to 2002 to finally find a church where the people are as you said. Normal down to earth, work together in unity and love and I can honestly say that I love everyone there. Young and old alike. I play bass there and run all the sound and recording and teach. We usually have around 40 to 50 people per service but they are serious and dedicated. They make you feel like you've known them for years.

From my observations, a whole lot of people are seeking the kind of church you mentioned and they are hungry for truth and sick of religion. I been watching this happen for the past 5 or 6 years. Man twisted God's Word to fit their own needs and now God is fixing the problem. I know it's gonna take some time for people to realize that and a lot never will.

Take the guy above.... he misunderstands everything I say and twists it to try and make himself seem to be learned but he comes up way short. I have no ill towards him but his lack of understanding biblical principles and ways keep him from understanding anything I say. He's no different than the churches he judges. He only ends up becoming the very thing that he is griping about. I just pray for him. My biggest problem is that I hang on to the hope of people eventually having their eyes opened to see what the Word of God really says. "Judge" is probably one of the most misunderstood words I know of and any attempt to explain it in detail would only be ignored.

I had said before that I totally agree that there are churches and Christians that are the very way he says but he seems to want to put EVERY Christian and EVERY church into one big pile judging them all as being the same. That is a very dangerous judgment to make and he can't seem to understand that. I pray that you can find a church like the one you described. They are out there but you just have to look and have patience in looking. Took me 5 or 6 churches to find one and I never wanted to go there to begin with. Took me a year to finally go and realize that I should have went a year earlier ...lol. Pride on my part :/

That's what I been trying to tell you. You finally admitted that there are two different types of judging. You stated:

"judging other people and judging what to wear or eat are hardly the same things".

By your own words. But the bottom line is that judging and judging are the same root.... choosing between at least two different choices. The third type of judging (different Hebrew word) is to pronounce guilty or not and pronounce sentence and condemn. And even that is choosing between two choices.... guilty or not guilty..... heaven or hell..... and only God can do that, not us.

You can go there to become indoctrinated, but learning about God and the fullness of the bible KCU is not the place to go. They strongly adhere to the Church of Christ (no disrespect intended) doctrine and it is a very flawed doctrine as concerning the deeper things of God. They deny at least 50% of the foundation of Christianity, not to mention they believe that baptism is what saves one. They believe that they are the "true" bride of Christ and that if one has a denomination on their door then they do not have access to salvation. Basically the same thing the Pope said except he stated in public that unless one belonged to the Roman Catholic Church but were instead a Protestant then they DID NOT have access to salvation. The Church of God of Prophecy believe that THEY are the true bride and all other denominations are "friends of the bride". And on and on. And we wonder why the world thinks the church is just a bit strange. Choose a College (Christian) and you will find each lean toward one particular denomination at least.

I HAVE asked them and they gave no concrete answer, nor can they unless they completely understand the spiritual things of God and quit putting Him in a box and telling Him what He can and cannot do.

The so called Christians in this day is so hurtful.so judgemental, they don't forgive. how do they get in church? its because they sin they had to learn the hard way to find god, just like every human being, its our destiny to sin,its in our blood from Adam and eve,we all have a path and a reason.its his way ,gods way .not yours or mine he controls us not you or me.he knows our life it is written already ..people is hurting already ,life is hard enough then look at someone and snob them.just like me I smile even at my enemies cause its not going to matter after we are gone.what does matter is our soul when we are gone.and I smile even when my heart is broken and tears behind my eyes..no one else knows what another person is going through to find god .but the Christian's that turns people away I feel Sry for you.god loves us too.he loves you so why act the way you all do?

It does not help that so many church goers are prejudicial and bigots. Most believe in this crackpot conspiracy that Muslims are trying to take over the world. They hate middle eastern people and look at them the same way the old south looked at blacks.
