I bought some snake away at Walmart a few years ago but it was just crushed moth balls, but be careful if you use moth balls they are poison and can cause breathing products. I would not put them under your home but around it is fine. Also cats will hunt snakes. If you like animals get a couple of cats for you yard.

Have a few friends that live in Texas, where snakes are pretty horrible. One of them told me to take burnt ashes and sprinkle around my home. He told me that snakes can't stand the smell of it. Just a idea.

If you really need to get rid of snakes make sure the have no habitat to live in. Remove any artificial cover, standing water, and anything that would bring in their food. If you treat for mice and rats, chances are most snakes will go away.

Though if you already live in their habitat your probably just going to have to deal with them. If you don't hurt them they won't hurt you.

There is some kind of oil they say will keep the snakes away, they say it burns their belly and they wont cross it. Only thing is I thing it is illegal now, look it up on line. They also say ferret stool will keep them away, due to ferret will kill a snake. I know it sound crazy but I know some people will keep them in a barn just for that.

I have always heard that pot-bellied pigs will kill and eat snakes, and they are supposed to make great pets.

Play your stereo loudly and it will scare the snakes away. They cant stand Elvis or Jim Nabors. Also they hate rap. You can talk to any zoo keeper and they will tell you, loud music will kill snakes.

Don't have places which they can hide in. Attract large birds to your yard (bird feeders, so froth), keep away their food- mice, so forth. Find you a stray cat, they do feed on mice and sometimes snakes. If there are poisonious snakes around, call a company that humanly catches and releases them. The best thing is to prevent them from wanting to come into your yard. It is ineviable though, that at some point you will have a snake in your yard.

Everyone does keep ferret stool in supply. LOL, actually makes sense. Everything does produce a distinctive odor, in which animals can identify them and usually do keep away. Much like dogs, cats, bears, so forth spray tree's to keep others off their land.
