1 I love thin crust pizza, and this was the thinnest, crispiest crust. This pizza also scored high on the sauce and generosity of toppings. It was well worth the money for a nice evening out. And we loved the "Northwoods" decor to boot!! |

naw if you want super great pizza then TAMMY'S is the place to go. Its in Spring Grove off of State Park Road. Talk about decor ya can't beat this redneck place. Just throw those peanut shells right on the floor. They have a thin crust so thin you can see through it. Well ok almost that thin. Lindenhurst great place to live. Really nice Lutheran Church too. But zero in the way of good food.

I'll talk the hubby into taking a little road trip some weekend and test out Tammy's. Any "redneck" place is all right with us.

Terrible. I ordered from there just because its 3 blocks from my house, figuring it wouldn't take too long to deliver. Ended up taking over 45 minutes, the fried mushrooms were soggy, the fries were soggy and cold, and the gyro was bland and had no gyro sauce on it, and they also got me a drink in a bottle instead of fountain because it was more expensive even though I asked for fountain. Yeah their portions are huge, but I would rather have half as much food if only it tasted better than this. Plus they tell you the total with a hidden delivery charge already in the total so you would end up tipping the driver on top of it.
I dont see them sticking around long... |

To much food to pick from. If they want this place to stick around they sure cut back on there menu. Have only pizza and burgers and not all that other stuff. And make sure the FOOD is served HOT.

I got a pizza delivered, first of all it was burnt and second of all there was a hair in it. and then i called and complained they were nice and offered to bring me something else or another pizza but it took at least an hour for the pizza to be delivered in the first place, so i said no thanks.

I had eaten there a few days ago. Now i saw tips left on the table for the girls who bring the food out, why tip they never asked if i needed anything they just brought it out. its like a culvers. Oh and apparently they offer free soup, but was i offered of course i wasn't. And if you watch closely they have buckets filled with water or something and after your done eating when they clear the table they do a quick wash of the red baskets and put them back up for them to use again, gross. I am never eating there again

I'll agree. Nothing special to report here. I guess I was first turned off by a car parked in the drive-through as to indicate that they were not operating it. The food was "just ok". |

I worked in Fox Lake for a short time last summer and one of my co-workers said "You HAVE to have a "Tammys pizza"!!! I ordered a personal pizza (8") and I found the ingredients to be top notch. I found the crust to be fantastic. However, I found the sauce to be bland. Sorry, "Village Idiot", the ingredients and the crust were NOT enough to overcome the lack of flavor in the sauce for me! As far as "lack of good food in Lindenhurst", I disagree yet again. Chopstix for Chinese is excellent, Grand Jakes for Mexican food is very good and Pizza hut for Italian....well....never mind. I'll stop there. |

StonyJ You and i are not far apart in thought. I'll give you Chopstix. I don't eat Chinese all that often but when i do i like a good Chinese place and you're right that is a good place. Pizza Hut ?? Come on that's fast food pizza, you and i deserve way better then that. As for Tammy's - the redneck ambience with the peanut shells on the floor really off set the bland sauce.

I stopped with Pizza Hut because that was getting TOO ridiculous! I haven't had pizza from there in 10 years which tells you how much I crave it. Maybe I'll try the Tammy's again "in-house" to be fair, as I only had it a couple times to go and never made it past the pickup counter. |

Well my colleague of the culinary perhaps we'll meet there someday. LOL glad you were just pointing out the absurdity of eating at Pizza Hut. I was afraid next you were going to tell me you use plastic silverware.

Actually, I find plastic silverware to be somewhat liberating. When I have a deluxe cuisine from my favorite carryout spot, I like to throw EVERYTHING out......it's kind of cleansing. You keep moving from Bourbanais to Channahan to......? So I'm not sure where we would dine!!!

I'm truly A Man For All Seasons. My disdain for plastic silverware came from an episode in my misguided youth where i actually broke one in my mouth. I'm as comfortable with a pig on the spit under the stars as i am where the menu's don't list prices. I don't care much for fast food franchise places. My rare exception is KFC. I'll be damn if i can figure out those 11 herbs and spices. The more unique something is the more i like it.

Let me help you, my new friend. There are two schools of thought regarding the "secret" KFC recipe. You choose!
Number ONE: 2 tablespoons paprika 1 tablespoon onion salt 1 teaspoon celery salt 1 teaspoon rubbed sage 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon ground allspice 1 teaspoon ground oregano 1 teaspoon chili powder 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon basil leaves, crushed 1 teaspoon marjoram leaves, crushed finely Mix together 4 teaspoons mixture, 1 cup flour, 2 Tbls. packed light brown sugar and 1 teaspoons salt. Place in a doubled plastic food bag and add chicken to coat. Fry, drain on paper towels, serve! Number TWO: 1.Monosodium glutamate. 2.Lard. 3.Depleted uranium. 4.Potasium Phosphate. 5.Pinch of salt. 6.Rats (finely chopped) 7.Some more lard. 8.Bullshit. 9.Crack cocaine 10.Thick grey grease from the bottom of the deep-fat fryer. 11.Something very nasty that's a by-product from a chemical works owned by Donald Rumsfeld . |

That is the best laugh I have had in I don't know how long!! And probably not far from the truth. It was #3 and 8 that started my laughing and #9 toppled me over. Thanks a bunch. |
