What a horrible tragedy... the family is in my prayers.

I do have a question...

Where were the Grayslake Police? That Van sat in the parking lot for 10 days, near a busy intersection and no one ever noticed? For the past week the description and plate number of the van have been all over the news, it just seems odd to me.

I agree, sitting in plain view for all that time? I can see if it was hidden in the woods, but geez, in a busy parking lot?

This was a complete lack of professionalism by the Grayslake Police Dept. A total slap in the face that another jurisdiction comes to your town to find a van in plain sight that should have been APB top priority for all shifts to check parking lots ect...
On the other hand I can't say enough for the hard work the agency who found the body did, unfortunaltely they couldn't have prevented the outcome no matter how hard they tried.

What about the neighbors also? I was scanning for that van on a daily basis wherever I was, it was on my mind. I find it so hard to understand why no one found that van sooner. The bottom line is her family lost their loved one. We need to pray for her and her family, and pray for justice in this case.

Excellent point. There is also no information that I read that said the van was there the entire time since she was killed in Waukegan.

First off I want to say sorry for your loss to the Best family. Now the only way the police around here would have found her if she was speeding not wearing her seat belt or blowing through a stop sign of red light. That's all they know how to do.

I think its crazy they did not find the van sooner, as much as the police harass people who are driving for no apparent reason. The real problem is the police are mostly rookie cops who haven't been trained very well and instead of worrying about the real things that matter, they are looking for stars to move up on the police force.
