Can you tell me what our Mayor has done well (for the good of the community) since taking office?
... I know the conversation of refacing the downtown area was taking place - I do not see a difference.. ... The severing ties w/ Hainesville, was that good or bad? |

RIGHT ON !!!!!! Look at some of the newspaper articles about the police activity around town. Police are doing a good job, It takes time to improve what was ignored for the last 10 years. I also would like to see more improvments, however some of the good things in life take some time. Got a problem call the mayor. Dont like what the village is doing take it to the board then take it to the voting both in April. GIVE EM A BREAK........ |

Both of you were way too quick to get angry.
So tell us what has improved? |

This is exactly my point. Alright the pizza comment may have been a little out of line but nothing is getting better in fact it seems to be worsening in our town. I have not had a drink since my son was born in 1999. I cerainly do not have wrecks in my yard in fact I am probably one of the few who take pride in my property around here. I do participate as much as possible at the grade school volunteering. I write an honest comment and all i get back is this? The original question was whats getting better? Based on what I have read this mayor has been in public office for 19 years in RLP. Senior Trustee, Finance, etc. Obviously on the inside loop. I do not have time to give to the Village or I certainly would but what has gotten better in the last 19 years? Now as I understand it we are more in debt than any of the other RL Villages or Grayslake or Mundelein or Lake Villa or Hainesville. The nature of politics seems to be if it happens on your watch you must take some responsibility. In fact I have been to her pizza store and tried to conduct a conversation with her about some things. I was told that "this is not the village hall". I cant afford to move, like so many of our neighbors, so I am trying to make things better by giving an opinion and I get called an alcoholic with wrecks in my yard. Now I know why nobody ever participates. |

The Mayor does not care about the people or the town. She is only concerned about her own wealth from her pizza place and the tax payers money she stuffs in her pockets. Everyone else gets fined for having long grass and crap piled in their yards but when it comes to her yard nothing is done about it.
Go ahead people, go eat there and help her get rich while you get sick from the food and treated like crap by the bimbos that work there. |

They have not left, I see them around town, they are watching the village fall apart like they predicted, it's time that the truth comes out, the current administration is a failure and will continue to fail, the only good thing that the village doesn’t want you to know is that Groot is putting in a waste hauler system in Round Lake Park it’s not thanks to McCue or Schnur, or Seminary it’s due to Nelson’s relentless work to bring in funds, that the village stated they really didn’t need, I would like to see someone look into the back round of on Trustee Schnur and his exploits on Main street when he was hanging out in the bars doing more then drinking, and lets get someone to ticket the junk yard across from WJ Murphy school, oh that’s still McCues family property. Bill B’s place isn’t for sale that’s Kelver’s / unkle Mikes old bar. |

To my knowledge no one on the village board has a college education. Their is nothing being done to improve the village with the exception of being saved by Bill's "Vote for Change Party" which would have turned the village in an even worse way. I think what we need is a wise educated person from saddle brook farms. The whole town is a joke. When will someone wise up and make all the Round Lake villages one??

1 What is the mayor doing about this? It's obvious to everyone RLP crime rate is becoming ridiculous, why hasn't she made a statement? Speak up on whats going to be done, Mayor! |

I think you are confused Saddlebrook should be given to Grayslake since they pay no taxes to the village of Round Lake Park, they do not shop in Round Lake Park and yet they decide your elections, and your main street upgrade, money which they will pay nothing for,if they want to make a difference they should petition to pull out of Round Lake Park and into Grayslake. As for the change group, if it was not for Saddlebrook they would have been in and you would have seen change, they had the right idea and the old part of Round Lake Park knew it and voted them in but Saddlebrook save the mayor again they saved Ila Bauer in an election or 2. I have seen nothing change in over 20 years here in this town and your mayor was on the board the whole time,so you talk like your just trying to start something.. maybe you should start with the people who have been in office doing nothing over the past 10 years Jean McCue, Ken Schnur. start there but first you have to get rid of Saddlebrook Farms, what have they done for Round Lake Park? screwed good citizens out of a good strong economic community that can flurish in the future, but then you don't what to hear that do you! |

"Village board members at a meeting formally voted to annex the land owned by the Skokie-based Alter Group and approved other agreements necessary for the Cornerstone project to proceed.
Expected to be built over the next 12 years at Peterson and Alleghany roads are industrial, office and research facilities blended in with retail and residential components. Alter representatives estimate Cornerstone's cost at $818 million." http://www.dailyherald.com/story/... This was a project Round Lake Park was building but had a falling out with the Alter Group, Jean McCue and Ken Schnur were part of the plan back when the development would have lifted the village in to the millions but Grayslake now has the deal.. I guess Bascek was right about Mayor McCues lack of growth and progress. 10+ years in office when will it end? |

Word has it that our old mayor and our old attorney made some nasty comments to the owners of the atler property. So the atler group sued them to have us (round lake park) removed as share holders of the property. So you can Thank Mayor Bauer for the loss in tax revenue.
Just like the so-called condo development on Hainseville road. Thats a whole other joke.. |
||||
|
word has it alter dragged their feet after a rush vote by Charline Beyer who was mayor and Jean McCue and Ken Schnur were trustees, they should have moved forward with alter they had the vote, reguardless of what was or was not said, and as for the condo it was McCue who promised them she would move foreward, it was in the papers, but she did nothing, like the railroad spur, talk was good in the papers, nothing was done, political ties to a Highland lake former county board member shut the condos down but they were going to let a tax exempt condos for the diabled go in the same place, nothing is still happening, ceo's get fired for this why not mayors?

I try not to read these posts because they seem to be the same people bantering back and forth under fictitious names. We are watching the thourough decline and demise of a once proud town. Blame it on whomever you want. As long as you have a group of senior citizens (Saddlebrook Farms) that do not shop or visit our town controlling the election process RLP is never going to get better. I am now laid off like many of my fellow neighbors. 2 kids an ex wife and a town riddled with newcomers from allegedly the south side of Chicago,(read in to that what you may) I am stuck. Many houses on my street are up for auction and that means my new neighbors will probably be section 8 renters or very low income homeowners. Thats wonderful. Most people try to pay off their house and use that money in their senior years. I owe more than my assesed value according to that little blue card I just received. I have not read or heard 1 thing from our elected officials regarding any kind of assistance or any kind of a plan to return RLP to health. Village officials PLEASE say something comforting. You lied when you said we were not in debt because we are, you lied when you said we are safer because, judging by the gunshots around town and the amount of people overdosing, we are not, you lied when you said our water bills would not go up and the mainstreet bond referendum wouldnt cost us anything because they have gone up so PLEASE lie some more. At least we might feel like our leaders are doing something. So far it seems they are not. How about 1 Round Lake. Make Rich Hill Mayor and let the new "City Council" go through the election process. 1 police dept. 1 fire dept. 1 governing body with 1 vision. It will never happen because it makes too much sense. So in the mean time Mayor and Trustees PLEASE let us in on your plans if you have one. |
