I am a fisherman myself and do have specific types of fish that I prefer to catch, but I do not agree with the obsession we seem to have with playing God to the types of species that reside in specific areas. Case in point, the attempt to restock the AuSable with the Arctic Grayling, which incedently didn't work because of the change in the river with the onslought of logging and deforestation in the late 1800's-early 1900's.
Similar problems occur in other lakes throughout the state, and it is a problem in my opinion. There are other ways to lessen the "unwanted" fish populations besides just wiping them all out for our own benefit.
This is poor management period.

I agree totally...I use to fish at Kneff Lake all the time. I would trap minnows and get oodles of them. Then they poisoned the lake. Then there were no minnows in my trap. A total waste of money, time and for nothing because it didn't make the fishing any better. Wake up DNR and quit wasting tax dollars!
