After receiving a ticket for speeding by a State trooper, I had to appear in person at the Grayling County Courthouse. My license had been suspended bc of an unpaid late fine on a non related traffic ticket (expired tags 4 days after my birthday)
When I arrived, I was told that I was to be booked. It was the most humiliating experience ever.
I was called from the public waiting area, lined up with 3 men and told by the court officer to follow . After a maze of hallways, locked doors and a parade thru the actual jail, we arrived at the booking room. As there was someone being "booked" I was directed to a holding cell, told to go in, and was "held" until the booking was finished (10minutes) in a holding cell for a speeding violation/late fee???
I was finger printed, asked questions about my personal details, and invoiced for the booking and the "temporary housing" (cell time!) questions included relationship status, body markings, tattoos, and piercings!!!!!
It was the most humiliating experience and seemed completely unrelated to the "crime"
The magistrate seemed surprised at the fact that I had been booked (and entered I assume into the homeland security registry)
I think the Grayling court has some serious issues with pairing the charge with the treatment....
I remain traumatized by the inhuman treatment.

When one doesn't take of one's business like paying the first fine in order to get one's license back...and then gets into another pickle...and then complains about consequences...Forgive me, you sound like a princess turned drama queen.

Yes, a humiliated princess!
Still, the treatment was far worse than the offense.
