I am thinking of getting internet thru Lewiston Communications. Already have cable with them and live in the Tee Lake area off Stickfort Rd. Would like to know if people who currently have internet thru Lewiston Communications are happy with it or do you have any complaints?

I am in the same area as you apparently. On the south side of Tee Lake. I have been very satisfied since I have had my internet with them. Nice people to boot.

For those who don't do alot of heavy downloading that live in the Lewiston area, you will soon have another option. From what I was told by a few Verizon Wireless techs, the Verizon tower in Lewiston is going to be upgraded to 4G LTE by the middle of this year. Verizon 4G went live in Alpena last week though it hasn't been officially announced yet.Traverse City,Petoskey,East Jordan,Charlevoix,Boyne City,Mancelona, and the surrounding areas now have LTE coverage and areas like Gaylord and Grayling will soon be online. Many people that don't use alot of data are dropping their wired service and upgrading to smartphones which you can tether on you laptop or desktop, or are getting the new tablets which have become very popular.

For anyone that has Lewiston Communications, just wondering if they have upgraded to HD TV yet or offer faster internet tiers?? Their 1 Mbps internet service is leased through Frontier which hasn't improved at all in Lewiston since taking over Verizon wirelines. Frontier fiber is horrible, so much so that AT&T has ran a second fiber line down 491 into town from M-32 to backhaul their cell site.

I have actually lived just a few minutes from downtown Lewiston for about 3 years now and have had Lewiston communications almost the entire time. In this time I have discovered that their internet is nothing near what they say, I have an unstable range of 36-158 KB/S speed with them even though they had advertised that they have better speeds than that, and they have only slowed the Internet down since I moved here. I would recommend finding another company if you are lucky enough to have access to anything else where you live. Unluckily my only option is Lewiston communications.

Just curious, which direction from town do you live? Nothing specific but N, E, S,or W? Have you checked to see if Verizon or AT&T wireless service works at your house. AT&T has a bit better service around Lewiston although they won't be running 4G LTE for some time. The AT&T site 3 miles north of town on Gamble road and M-32 runs pretty fast. A 4G Mifi hotspot with an antenna booster works really well.

Just plan to get your wallet out if you deal with ATT.

True. But actually Verizon is the most expensive out of all the 4 major carriers due to them currently having pretty much the premium network.

One option which I forgot to mention is Verizon's "Home Fusion" 4G LTE service. The data plans are cheaper than Cellular broadband plans.
