Why not lower the weight limits for trucks??? Michigan allowable weights are twice that of most states. Opps, that right, unions rule this state. Let the trucks destroy the roads...more taxes!

Allan, your right on the money. Not only does our state allow over loaded semi's that damage our roads, they put less tax on fuel that those semi's that MAKE their money by hauling use. On top of that the MDOT union and its corrupt bidding system spend millions to repair or reconstruct road more slowly then ever.

Remember when registration fees were done by weight? Now it's MSRP, my ten year old caddy had MSRP of 40K, still paying $180 a year for tabs. Nice huh? Allan, most of those overweight trucks are carrying Canadian trash! Bout time we consumers quit bitchin' about it and do something. Petition for proposal on ballot!

michigan does not ALLOW over loaded trucks to drive through the state. And for your lack of information, truckers pay more road taxes in one year then you will all your life. Quit sounding so uninformed.
