The runner at first didn't slide into second and even if he did, if he intentionally interfered in any way with the fielders attempt to retire a runner, he is out for interference. If he intentionally interfered with a fielders attempt to retire multiple runners, there could be multiple outs for interference. The call was correct and the plate umpire did the proper thing in helping make the call at second because he has responsibility to help on interference plays since the base umpire has to follow the ball and cannot stay locked in on player position and contact after the throw.

The umps also don't call check swings unless a coach requests the umpire making the call to consult with another umpire.

This case is no different. The base ump makes a call. Coach goes to him and asks him if he saw the entire play. They discuss it. Ump realizes that maybe he was not in a position to see something and goes to the other umpire for help. It is a common situation in baseball and any other sport. Instead of bad mouthing people for doing things the right way, it might help to study the game a little before showing such a lack of knowledge.

Chad Estep and Chris Parsons....WOW...Went to school with both of them. Chad always thought he was mr. wonderful and better than anyone else. Funny that his brother was a really good guy laid back and easy to get a long with. Chris Parsons is an ump? That guy never played anything, he was a pothead. I played sports in Corbin starting in tee ball, minor league, little league baseball. Played basketball and little leauge football, then middle school and high school footbal and 1 thing held true, all the sports were about politics and who your parents were and who they were friends with. That did change a lot during hihg school football, but that has been 20 tears ago. I do not live in Corbin anymore, but it seems some things have not changed and mabe gotten worse.

I grew up in all sports in Corbin and was involved in youth sports as an adult. No matter where you go, there are some parents that show favoritism to their kids if they are coaches but for the most part, the talent rises to the top. If you are good and you stand out in games, you move to the front of the line.

Of course he had to ask. An umpire will not make a call in another's area unless he is asked to. Base umpire did not see the interference. Plate umpire did. Coach asked base umpire to confer with plate umpire since base umpire cannot see the contact. It is the job of the plate umpire to follow the play behind the ball to see if there is contact or interference and help the base umpire rule if asked. Same as a check swing. Base umpire is going to make a call if plat umpire asks and he isn't going to ask unless the defense asks.

Chad made them give that call because he was acting like a child and was afraid his team would lose some people have to cheat to get a win I feel sorry for him

Chad can tell everyone how great he is and how big a church man he is.. But actions speak louder than words. All he teaches is if you don't get your way.. Act like an idiot!! Everybody loves to win.. But to screw over other kids to achieve that goal isn't what true sportsmanship is. He's a POS in my book and I think most everybody.. Including parents of his players.. Are tired of seeing his antics in every sports league he coaches. His contributions are negative and at best a show of ignorance.

The coach wanted the umpires to get the call correct. Wouldn't anyone?. He didn't do anything worse than any of the other coaches in the league or any of the parents for that matter.

You got coaches that refuse to play makeup games because their pitchers are out of pitches. You have coaches that refuse to give umpires a lineup and tell their kids they are going home and make them vote on whether they are staying resulting in a forfeit. You have coaches who throw fits because of who drafts their kid. You have coaches that go and order uniforms for their travel team and try to represent themselves as a Little League team so that their travel team can get the league discount. You have coaches that leave Little League to form travel teams because they don't like whatever and then come back and try to ramrod the league. You have coaches that go out and tell kids they are on an all star team before there is even a vote. You have coaches that cry over strike zones and out/safes. You have parents who threaten that their kids will never play in the league again (who cares). You have parents that scream at umpires that have no clue what they are even screaming about. You have parents that threaten they're taking their kids to williamsburg because they didn't get drafted by the coach they wanted. You have parents that make sure everyone on the field can hear them because it's all about their kid and them. You have parents that take their kids out of the league and bring them back because they don't get to be on All-Stars and it isn't fair that their kids are so good but can't play for All-Stars. You have parents that threaten coaches because they don't like they way they handle them. And a coach asks an umpire to get help on an interference call because the umpire making the call cannot see the entire play and now he is the antichrist?

A coach tries to get a call correct so he is screwing over other kids? Isn't he screwing over his own kids if he doesn't try to get it corrected? Does that mean the opposing coach is screwing over your kids if his team benefits from an incorrect call and doesn't go to the umpire to get them to correct it so that you aren't getting screwed? Sportsmanship? Character? You haven't a clue!

Same goes on in all sports at all levels. Several CHS programs and coaches stink too. Superintendent turns a blind eye to coaches with problems and issues. Just take a look at Girls Softball, the incompetent coach and all the stuff the school let's him get by with. If you think it's bad at the level your child is at now, it gets no better as they get older.

I've coached along time and yes the kids need to work hard but trying to push them over the limit an put them down is wrong getting after them and encourage them is right and chad does that.
