5 Nothing wrong in helping God out of a territory where he is not supposed to be...but I'm definitely in favour of doing that in the most gently way possible. A court case in the U.S. seems a very doubtful method - for obvious reasons. |

8 Geesh...I feel like we have a freedom to believe just like they have the freedom to not. It kinda seems like they want everything to go their way or they stomp, cry, pout, and threaten lawsuit if they dont get it. Its like they demand to be right or win and it is the most horrible thing ever if they dont. IMHO...all these little special interest groups and the ACLU are one of the problems with this country. They are nothing but contentious people who cant leave well enough alone. |

8 Most Atheists, like myself, are fine with people having religion, having the freedom to choose which one to follow, and have no issue with religious displays on private property. No one's asking that churches be demolished. Government should remain secular and the fight to keep religion out of it is one that should be taken seriously. Some Christians agree completely on this. Imagine if Islam became the dominant religion in the US, and the courthouses were displaying verses from the Koran. You might feel a lot differently if that were the case. It's about protecting the freedoms of everyone, not throwing childish tantrums. |

6 Or is he using lightening bolts? Sorry...couldn't resist. And for the fellow who asked about God being on passport...well, we're not that tolerant of illegal aliens anymore...better be valid or he's outta here. In case he hasn't noticed, we have no problem kicking people named Jesus outta the country. He ain't safe either. Oops, couldn't resist again...:) |

5 Move to Wyoming where there are only 300,000 residents. The atheists would have a better than average of becoming the majority. Or try Alaska. Now thats a place for growth. |

8 The reason that God bothers the atheists is because they want no restrictions on sinning. They love sin and love sinning and God puts a damper on their freedoms to sin. Christians are happier people than atheists because Christians aren't living in fear any longer. Atheists are terrified. |

2 Great idea. In fact, putting all the atheists in Wyoming would probably only double the population there. |

7 It's not your "belief in a supreme being" that is hurting anyone. Feel free to believe in whatever you choose to, or not believe. Those who don't share your belief however, and yet are obliged under this law to pay to advertise your beliefs with their tax dollars quite understandably find the law offensive. You state that "They dont have to pray if they dont believe", and I'd certainly agree with that -and I'd add that it's pretty sporting of you to permit individuals to worship or not as they choose. But then you go on to say "They dont have to acknowledge God if they dont want to. We are not forcing them to do that." The article discusses a law that involves the use of taxpayer money to acknowledge your God through training, educational materials and a plaque. Please note the third paragraph in the article, reprinted here for reference: "Of particular concern is a 2006 clause requiring the Office of Homeland Security to post a plaque that says the safety and security of the state "cannot be achieved apart from reliance upon almighty God" and to stress that fact through training and educational materials." Not all taxpayers believe in your God, and through this law all taxpayers are in fact being forced to acknowledge your God with their taxpayer dollars. It is clearly not "freedom of religion" when non-believers are forced to pick up the tab for religion-based educational materials. Would you feel comfortable with a law that spent your tax dollars to promote atheism? Those interested in religious education should of course feel free to pursue it - on their own dime. |

4 Um... is that why they were praying and screaming "God is great" as they crashed planes into our buildings? BTW, thanks for calling millions of your fellow citizens "TERRORISTS" simply because they don't share your beliefs. Let me correct your post for you: THE TERRORISTS WERE RELIGIOUS NUTS WHO THINK ONLY THEIR BELIEFS ARE CORRECT. |
