I've been there. It's way to important to be nothing, or offices, or low rent ghetto apts (which is what happens to historic bay area hotels).
Please somebody buy it and hopefully more people will visit.
It just reeks history in a very cool way.

wow...sorry to see it go, i'm sure it will be "back" eventually. i've had many business lunches there over the years and the food/service was always great!
