According to the New Testament the focus of sex in marriage should be to expand the power of love and respect. In so far as Mr. Young seeks to do this through this book, he is to be encouraged; in so far as he confuses the issue by failing to mention New Testament Bible verses that talk repeatedly and systematically about denying the flesh and ungodliness, by esteeming others higher than yourself, by carrying your cross and not indulging one's ego and sexual "need"--he does a great disservice to marriage and the church.
The idea that married people can indulge in sexual pleasure with abandon, while single people must not even touch their own or anyone's else's genitals, creates a foolish dichotomy and sets people up for failure. We should be much more open about real needs in whatever guise, but not stupid and sensational, pandering to people's basest instincts.
