You have no idea how bad it is going to get. What are the terms of the settlement mentioned in the paper? Don't remember reading that it was ever authorized to be offered by council. Maybe the Berrier gang took it on themselves to offer. They can always get permission later.

funny line item on the budget. Hair Dye for the Mayor. She actually thinks people respect her.

Maybe they will respect her LPD badge. Yep, the Old Gray Mayor got a badge just like the rest. After all, she is the person in charge. What are the odds of Lyin' Bill even giving her the time of day?

Anyone else impressed as little as I was with the building and staff? Won't be long before we are the laughing stock of PA.

The only screwing you are going to get Spectator is when the 400 units make a visit to the pot farm.

Wow you are optimistic...what makes you think people aren't laughing already, when people like Lewistown Resident representing the borough with his second grade education, everyone laughs at Lewistown, it is a cesspool.

It's not going to happen as soon as I'd like it to, but I'm getting ready. I was, rather the wife was going to get me an external DVD burner this week but because of having to get fuel and pay other bills, that will have to wait. Maybe your thinking why is she buying it and not me?

That's because I get $1,000 a month that goes towards the house payment and the Jeep payment and what's left over it probably goes for gas, bill's or food. In all the years now that I've been on disability, I might have actually seen my check 3 to 5 times. I don't see it, I don't sign it, it just disippears kind of like the way it arrived. Besides, there is noting I really want anymore and as long as the wife throws me a tid-bit now and then, were both happy I guess?

Welfare bum.

Ask him...LOL

Anyone who just dropped in here would think so, one post of his would cast enough doubt on the town, but his incessant rambling sure gives the unknowing people that sense. Can you imagine being tied in any way to that idiot? He is exactly what is wrong with these forums, people like him should be institutionalized without internet access.

Watch out people of Lewistown, next year you get taken to the cleaners. Frank and the four dwarfs will pass everything they want, hopefully Nelson and Larry will try to keep them straight. Lyin Bill will not be close to his budget and will have every excuse why he didn't make it. Did they get bullets yet? Queen Latifah Bargo will break the bank on hair dye and bragging how many people she married, all the time while keeping the council puppets on a string. How's market street looking with this group? VACANT ! Count the empty store fronts. Good luck Lewistown.

Several reasons why we are screwed:
1. Taxes WILL go up in the boro to pay off the $$$$ borrowed to fund the PD.
2. On top of that our school taxes will go up because of the decrease in state funding and all the other problems within the school district.
3. More and more businesses are leaving the boro to go to Derry, Brown, etc. Plus new businesses are NOT coming into here - going to Derry, etc. This means a decresing business tax base - more tax liability on the homeowners.
4. Most new residents to the county are NOT choosing Lewistown Boro to settle in.
5. The boro is getting filled with more and more reliefers that pay little if any taxes.
6. And need I say anything about the small-minded "leaders" that have put their trust in the wrong people/things withour regards to what is best for the future?

I never thought I would say this but I am seriously considering selling my house and moving outside of the boro. It is a shame - too bad no one speaks up. I have tried but I am in the minority.

I can agree with you on two points,#5 The borough is getting filled up with reliefers, I would call them people looking for handouts, also druggies. And the second point is noboby speake out is another good point, not like this forum where most of these JunkE's would sooner you shut up, but they are not having much success with me.

Don't give up, just because everyone is doing it doesn't make it right, They may think that in this Generation, but there is still some of us that stick to our beliefs...

The news today is that the Wlfare bums are sucking up 37% of the state budget, last week there it was reported that 45% of Americans, or should I say people living in America, are receiving Government handouts.I can assure you from just looking around that Mifflin County has that number much higher.
