If it were bombs that were going to destroy the Hennepin steel mill the country would be up in arms. But a man with the Indian flag cufflinks is trying to destroy this mill by removing equipment that will make it useless. This a good steel mill. One of the BEST finishing mills in the world. Profitable with a dedicated work force that has always been willing to do there best to make money for the owners. History shows this is true.

Not likely Pink, Any time he can decrease American production he will. He has asked other US steel companies to do the same.

So you think !!! He wants to close all the steel mill in the US. Ship from his steel mill over sea? Close the US market on steel?

Not all, but by law when when capacity is met in the United States mills, foreign steel will be imported. So less capacity in the States means more imports. Wonder if anyone out there can tell us just how it works for Foreign steel companies like Arcelor Mittal ?

Your right Bob. Some in Hennepin are keeping up the fight. Lakshmi Mittal now is going to force 31 employees of the closed steel mill to come back to work. They will have to help destroy the plant they have been fighting to save or be fired. The company will say in so many words that it's asset protection but they have equipment an parts that will be shipped out. What a headline story. Hennepin Steelworkers forced to dismantle there own mill!

We are all tired, the fight has took it's toll on us. Mittal has now started to play very dirty! HE is taking our penison time alway from some of us,that had over 2 yrs off from ltv, so we can't make the rule of 85 or 65. At the time of shut down we had that time counted now we don't unless we go in and dismantle our mill. Going in will be like cutting our own throats!

I guess everyone has about given up on trying to save Hennepin. All I can say is don't forget this when it comes to election time. God Bless you all!

Bob, The same people are still fighting to save the plant and roll steel again. It's a battle with a ruthless company with Bad American management carrying out Lakshmi Mittals agenda along with a spineless International Steel workers union. These stumps have forgotten what silidarity means and have only been looking after themselves. The local union and the working people of Hennepin have done more than anyone will ever know. We will continue.
