You voted for it in the last election cycle, now learn to live with it.

Corbett just announced he will be cutting $4 billion dollars in state spending all in one years budget with no tax increases.

Corbett told his fellow Republicans any tax increase to feed poor children living in Pennsylvania would be very hurtful to the GOP'S next campaign cycle chances.

Gov. Corbett is just trying to clean up a mess that was created by "Fast Eddie". It is a shame that, as usual, it affects Public Safety.

Corbett has nothing to do with it as the firefighters at the Gap are federal civilians.

The townships should enact ordinances that charge the Gap a set amount for responses that fall outside of the mutual aid agreement. Maybe then they'll think about this poor decision.

No, the fire department at the Gap is paid by the state.

I wonder - aren't there active duty soldiers who have training as firefighters that could fill in at those times? It is a military installation, after all.

Nice try, attempting to turn it into a campaign issue for Democrats. Unfortunately for you, the other people commenting know the truth, which makes you look like a partisan fool.

This seems about right, the Gaps joke of a police department call the State Police for anything more serious than a speeding ticket. Its their installation, they need to patrol it and provide first response...God forbid a chopper goes down at o'dark 30 and they have to wait for various local fire depts. to mobilize and respond.

So it's going to be an airfield without a fire department?? That makes a lot of sense!

"Gap spokesman Maj. Cory Angell confirmed that due to budget constraints, the fire department, which has 13 full-time firefighters, will not be able to be on duty 24 hours a day."

Well that is a great idea, because fires are only started when someone is on duty, right? What a joke!

NO, the fire fighters at the gap consist of Federal Technicians and Federally funded state employees. All paid by the federal government.

"It's not very routine to have night-time flights, but sometimes we do have them, and they'll probably continue," she said. "That's not to say it wouldn't change down the road as they look at it further. But at this point, it will continue."

Who the F speaks like this? Why don't you just say "I have no idea what I am talking about and anything is possible"

it is my understanding that a way to continue coverage was shown but not excepted because midnight to 8 is not a productive time to work.

It's complicated. The paychecks come from the state. The money comes from the state. Or lately, the money does NOT come from the state, or anywhere else. I've seen the paychecks!
