If we continue buying products made in China, we continue to make China rich and rob from the American work force. Stop buying Chinease made products. The buyers of all major stores don't care if it says made in America, or in China. It is up to we Americans to show them where the bear
shits in the Buckwheat. Stop Buying from China!!!!

I have a better idea. Blow a 2 mile wide channel from the Rio Grande to the Pacific and watch our shipping go way down, America will own Her own channel and not pay China for going through the Panama canal for shipping. The desert regions on both sides would then receive water, tourism, irrigation and the shipping costs would fall as well as food costs as the farms start to flourish w/o cheaper water bills. Water would no longer be needed to be piped in to those states, just made free of salt,(free sea-salt to sell), and lets see a Cartel tunnel under a 2 mile stretch of ocean. It would get rid of ALL tunnels to Mexico, and force them either to the air or water to drop drugs, both easier to control from America's standpoint. America has the stockpile of Thermal nukes to do it, just being stored. If planted deeply enough it won't mess with ground level radiation. The land owners who lose a share of property can be compensated from profits of new tourism, fishing, ranching, farming, shipping, and jobs for all those things. China no longer gets our money and must pay us to use OUR shipping channel if they need. There would be specialists of course, to ensure we don't accidentally blow W. California off into the Pacific, and also to return as much and quickly to possible the border areas affected for both wildlife and human life. There are tons of organizations and volunteers that could help clear animals and people or just use the military for a day, with plenty of warning of what is up in both English and Spanish. Yes, some people will lose their homes, but they can be repaid and also honored for sacrificing for the good of both countries and all the people. If we blow 2 miles off our side only, then only the US has rights to the channel and all traffic, fees, and the US Coast Guard can have a third border to patrol. More careers, easier living. Money spent on Mexican drug control can then go to other needed areas. Jobs could flourish and shipping would stay in our economy.

Digging a channel of that magnatude would cost billions, maybe trillions of dollars and would take years.
Simply stop buying products with the made in China label on them and buy products that say they are made here in America would do the trick. Eventually, the purchasing agents would see the swing back, and start replenishing he American made products. This would start up millions of manufacturing plants, which means millions more in jobs. Once the snowball has started, step aside to the old America, once again in charge of our own destiny.

I said to blow it, not dig it, with our spare thermal nukes we are currently paying to store anyway. We can use already paid for troops or volunteers to help evacuate and blow it. It would take a day to blow it. However, you may be right in how many years it would take to get approved, if ever. Like I mentioned, Geologists might say it would take out California, so of course, the specialists would have to give approval. If it is a good enough idea, I would think people would get behind it and volunteer or tell other organizations that know what to do. I am just a nobody with an idea I'm trying to express. I do appreciate the feedback. It's important to me. I do my best to buy locally only, and support the local merchants and farmers. So I agree with you about the shopping. I just wanted to try to help solve several issues permanently with one project. Your idea is fine but most people will still go for the cheap product. Look when they tried to boycott China in the 80's (I think?) for child labor. Wal Mart found an opening somehow and now demand for cheap, mass produced items from outsourced factories flourish. America overbuys anyway. Look how much stuff is left for free or dumped. How many storage units a day are auctioned off? People are just too materialistic to understand quality for quantity, at least one generation has grown up with "disposable" as a mainstay in their lives, so the outsourced, cheaply made mass production thrives on.

A ripple starts with the drop of a stone. With the dropping of many stones, we can change the direction we are heading. I buy American, even if it is not the quality I want. I wrote a porm to this affect.
Where is America?

I buy a shirt, it's made in China,
I buy a clock, it's made there too.
I look to find what's made in America,
I find America is made there too.

I buy a car, it's made in Japan.
I seek the best, it's made there too.
I look to find what's made in Amerca.
Ifind America, moving to Peru.

I buy my radio and electronics.
Made in China written on their backs.
Where is the logo, Mad in America?
I find it's fallen through the cracks.

The Big 500, once made in America.
Outsource their products to other lands.
Their pockets bulging, from made in China.
Poor folks here just sifting sand.

Whatever happened to made in America?
Is it still posswible to get it back?
Not enough money, if made in America.
The rich folk say, "They got the knack."

I went to town, to go see America.
I hear a language, strange to me.
I find the Mexicans, here in America.
They change our tongues and claim, "We're Free."
