And you are woefully ignorant of what services are provided for these individuals. It's "bout time" that you educated yourself. And it's "bout time" for you to open your eyes and see that there for the the grace of God, go you.

If I wouldn't have been so quick to reply to bout time, I would have included you. And I do believe you misspelled "dumies". Feeling smart and superior?

I only became a "spelling nazi", because someone is making rude and unkind remarks about developmentally disabled individuals. Maybe when they are acting oh so much smarter, maybe they should make sure their spelling" is correct. That way they can come across as oh so much smarter.

What's wrong with thinking adults who should know better to be able to spell common words? The reason people get mad about it is because they are the ones who can't spell. From the looks of it, hardly anyone here can and that's ridiculous.

Nothing wrong with being a spelling "Nazi."

Wow, a new low even for you. You are going straight to hell. These individuals aren't just diagnosed with "intellectual disabilities." They have anything ranging from cerebral palsy, spastic quadriplegia, to severe mental retardation. Many of them are total care because they are unable to bathe, feed and dress themselves. God forbid you have a child like this that needs that kind of assistance.

I swear people in this world who think like you to, should be chained up in the middle of the town so people can throw rotten food at you. I know I would be first in line. People with developmental disabilities are highly intelligent but were not given the abilities we as fortunate people take for granted. I am blessed to work with people with disabilities and I have made some life long friends. They are very caring and full of life. And so you know everyone has some sort of a disability.. For example the comment you left tells me you have an intellectual disability. People with developmental disabilities don't look for handouts, like the rest of the population. They accept what they were blessed with and do the best they can to succeed in life. Maybe you should spend some time with people like them so that way you can get a sense of how amazing and smart they really are. I cannot believe that there are still people in this world who don't value life. People with disabilities do not choose the way they are, so why be hateful toward them. Yeah only in America there are people like you who have no sense of worth and no morals. Maybe you need to go back to school being that you are far from being to cool for it. Grow up and learn to be a proper human being.

120 staff don't teach intellectually disabled people. Maybe you need to be taught since you seem to have an intellectual disability. I cannot believe that you are that ignorant. There are other employees of that agency, dumb dumb. Like Managers, Nurses, Nursing Assistances, HR Mgr, Executive Directors,Business Mgr and so on. The direct care staff teach the Individuals life skills that people who are blessed with those abilities take for granted. They teach them things that they should have learned at a younger age but were not. People thought of them as worthless lives. I know different. I have seen people who have disabilities that learn how to cook for themselves and learn how to write and clean and ride public transportation,or even get a job, when they were never able to posses those skills when I first met them. I have know them to graduate college and start their own businesses.I have also been apart of helping teach some of these successful life skills. I have witnessed amazing things from the people of this population and it makes me happy that they develop that self worth and confidence to be as Independent as the rest of us. Medicaid money is well spend on them. They were let down by the government when they were growing up, and now they are giving back to them so that they can live a life that is meaningful to them and giving them an opportunity to be a participant in society. If they were just treated with some worth from the get go then maybe people who have disabilities would have a better adult life and not have to depend on these types of funds. Research what is going on before you make your judgments. People who have disabilities are amazing, intelligent people. I wish you can see and experience what I am talking about. It truly is life changing and special.

you also have to consider that some of these individuals have to have 24 hr care. they have staff that do graveyards.so to have a staff of 120 is way understaffed. look into something before you open your mouth.you are heartless.

You're right, but I must add: God forbid Too Cool for School ever has ANY child, with a heart like he must have (or lack thereof). He's damned himself to be a quadriplegic "next time around," or if there is no next time around, maybe he's just damned. Karma, gotta love it!

Be Careful. You might end up in a wheel chair. I know at least three tough MEN end up in a wheelchair. On died at least two weeks ago. He got after one of my co-workers at his birthday party. He threw some very hateful words at him. He ended up in a motorcycle accident two weeks later. The wheelchair was next. Then he died.
