I can't believe there is even a debate on this. Illegals should not be getting driver's licenses, PERIOD. The amount of fraud they can get into once they have driver's licenses is staggering. They can get passports, they can get credit... it's just insane. And they certainly won't have insurance on their cars once they drop that insurance after carrying it for the specific timeframe they need it in to get away with their crap.

Issuing driver's licenses to illegals should never have happened in the first place. Repeal it, yesterday if not sooner, and then launch an investigation into the original intent of the measure in the first place. That's what I say.

Lookie here....I writing my list and checking it to illegals aliens getting driver's license. Get legal and drive, baby, drive.

You got a passport? Great, you are in the country legally, if you came in through the front door.

and any legislator, Dem or Rep or IND
voting anything except that illegal is illegal and should not be compensated or tolerated\

gets my boot to the curb next time around.

No more messing around with their personal opinions. Your constituents should be calling the shots, not some stuck-up, self-serving politician.

The vote is a little later. Let's roll.

What part of not being here legally is not understood? Why are we still trying to help those who are not willing to abide by our laws? We need to stop the dem. bleeding. Its time to make this state have some balls. Wow, cant believe we are actually fighting others wanting someone here illegally. We cant afford our own people and kids, but we have open arms for everyone wanting our money.

Polls cited by the Sun-News indicate that 70% of NM voters want this stupid law repealed, yet those inept fools in Santa Fe totally disregard the wants of their constituents. In the next elections of 2012 we need a complete cleanup of Santa Fe to get rid of these contemptible legislatures who do not consider what is best for NM, but only for themselves. We started to clean house in 2010 and now we need to finish it the next time around.......

New Mexico's last administration and terrible reconquista governor pandered to the open borders/la raza crowd.
He should have been recalled !
We do not need illegal aliens from all over the USA using New Mexico Drivers licenses to game our immigration laws!
