What is the correct information then? I have always used the water tower as a landmark and when we use to go through Grant on our way to my Grandparents cottege on Diamond Lake, we would stop at the Depot to eat.
Knowing what the water tower was originally built for and what it was used for, it's something I would like my kids to know about. They are both train fanatics and already got the chance to enjoy Greenfield Village this summer. Which by the way, Greenfield Village has the last fully operational round house for steam engines in the midwest.

The water tower had to be moved due to the increasing 'highway robbery' rent the City was required to pay CSX Transportation every year after the railroad's threats to tear it down. It looks great, and the site is now called Water Tower Park. Next time you drive through Grant, you should stop at the Depot and check out the park.
