The Aiken Standard published that Solicitor Barbara Morgan provided gifts to a circuit court judge. Our solicitor disclosed that she enjoyed baking and giving him gifts; such as cakes, etc. A public official is not permitted to give gifts or bribes to any judge regardless of the gift's value, and this is believed to be misconduct in office and a violation of the SC Code of Laws.

Wonder what else she gave him? Likely difficult to put a value on that stuff. Of course, we all know none of this adversely affected his rulings when it came to her cases. Yeah, right!

SLED and the South Carolina Attorney General should be investigating this possible misconduct in office.

With the stuff she used to influence the judge, she just might be able to get a court order barring any investigation of her conduct.

Attempts to influence judges by prosecutors goes on all across south carolina. SLED should get on top of these allegations and do something.

2007 South Carolina Witch Trial
We are in need of help. When the law and government become the problem, all that is left is to obtain the support of the people and the media. Our problem started with a neighbor 3 doors down that began filing complaints against us the day they found out my wife is a Witch. Many of the complaints stated that part of the problem was witchcraft being practiced at our home. This caught the attention of the county police. Every time they came to talk to us, they without fail would comment about my wife being a Witch. We contacted a Lt. Duke who wrote a report detailing that all the complaints filed were investigated and were unfounded. He further went on to state the complaints were stemming from harassment from our neighbors. That was the last report taken from us. Further contact with Lt. Duke resulted in being told that "we will not take any more reports from you". This includes a report about the neighbor coming to our home to challenge us to a fight and receiving phone calls threatening to burn our home down. The police refused to listen to us or take the reports. Finally on September 10 2007 a Lt. Duke responded to a complaint from the neighbors and came to our home red in the face. Long story short, he arrested my wife and step son. Again while the officers commented about arresting the Witch. Other members of our family and friends have received threatening phone calls from people claiming to be with the police dept.
The charges filed against all of us are false. They are a stretch of the law to start with. The police and prosecutor claim we are crying religious discrimination to get out of trouble. They claim we do this every time we are arrested. Since we were arrested only once, I find this claim to be inflammatory. As for our claims of religious discrimination, I must ask...
1.. Why is it that every time the police arrive, they are asking if this is the Witch or making comments about this being the Witch. These comments are witnessed by us and friends.
2.. Why is the top reason for a search warrant, "The suspect has a web site showing she is a practicing witch"?
3.. Why did the prosecutor, for no reason, bring up in court that our son should not be allowed back with us because "Mrs. Gruber is a practicing witch and sexual deviant. She has been reported to have cast spells on the neighbors and several of the police officers"?
4.. Why did a judge sign off on a warrant where the top reason for the search is that my wife is a practicing witch?
I realize that every story has 2 sides, however this nightmare that is tearing our family apart seems to be reminiscent of the Salem Witch Trials over 300 years ago. All stemming from the accusations of a disturbed child with the support of adults unable to see anything but a Witch. Our attorney is convinced this is a Witch trial, as he has never seen so much paper filed against one family and so much of it containing the word Witch. Our family is fighting for our freedom and our very lives. Our son will not have the military career he seeks, and his parents will be placed in prison for up to 13 years. Which we have had demonstrated that we will not survive.

Wow Brown Sugar, looks like you need to go back and read your Bible. A lot of stuff in there about not judging others, being kind to others, etc. Besides, America is a nation with many freedoms, including religious rights (that means any religion, not just any Christian religion). America is a free nation with a Christian majority, not a Christian nation with a few minorities.

Once the UCLA gets involved in this I think it'll take a much different turn, supposing what's written above is at least mostly true.

Why did Solicitor Barbara Morgan meet with Chief Deputy Dewayne Courtney on Thursday October 4 to discuss Aiken County sheriff's continued employment or termination of four narcotics officers? If the misconduct of these officers warranted termination, there was no justification for her to involve herself with the sheriff's management of these former Aiken County employees.

Can't believe the sheriff said as quoted in the Aiken Standard on Friday, October 6, 2007, "We are running a parallel investigation with (the State Law Enforcement Division) and once we wrap that up it will go to the Solicitor's Office for review. She(Second Judicial Solicitor Barbara Morgan) will decide whether it needs to be handled internally or if criminal charges are warranted." This is corruption as it's highest level. The solicitor has absolutely nothing to do with an officer's independent investigation nor his signing an affidavit of probable cause for an arrest warrant which is then typically independently reviewed and approved by a local area magistrate. What kind of coruption and collusion is going on in Aiken County? The Governor, SC Attorney General and SLED really need to look into this obviously corrupt local judicial system (law enforcement, magistrates and prosecutors each have their own independent responsibilities).

This explains why those lame a$$ charges and arrests where made against Judge Charles Carter since he was making independent judicial decisions which contradicted Barbara Morgan. If this solicitor is crossing the line and making the calls when arrest warrants should be issued and intimidating the local area magistrates to the extent that it's compromising their ability to make independent decisions from the bench, that's misconduct in office. She was elected to manage the solicitor's office, not the sheriff nor his personnel, not the magistrates and circuit court judges. Governor Sanford, Attorney General McMaster and/or SLED needs to throughly investigate this possible collusion, corruption and misconduct in office.

A now with the firing of the sheriff's narcotics unit solicitor plea bargain morgan says that she is considering not prosecuting up to 250 drug related cases and some convicted prisoners may be released from jail. This solicitor is going to let hundreds of drug dealers and users go free and get back on the streets of Aiken County. We were already disappointed by her inability to take murder cases to trial and when she did they would either get dismissed or result in a mistrial. God help Aiken County!
