I wonder if the pills were prescribed to them or if they bought them from someone.

You should read the article before making moronic statements. One of those victims, it sounds like in the article, died from taking prescriptions in a deadly combo. Prescriptions which is, at a minimum, medical negligence.

Thank you Dr. However, it was probably mis-use of those meds so either way, pffffft!

While I am not a doctor, my girlfriend is an RN and that was her opinion, although she did say what you did without all the associated assholery. I.E. If they were abusing and not using it is their fault, not the prescribing doctors.

Yeah, I just can't get her to mad or she might have me killed. Or maybe just do it herself silently. Should I be suspicious the white powdered doughnuts always make me sick?

I wouldn't be. Simple sugar OD.

Just keep it down to 3 or less.

You should be OK then...numerous personal experiences.

Withdrawals can be rough though.

You don't believe in addiction? Someone starts taking pain pills that are prescribed by their doctor and then ends up getting hooked and abusing the pills? Somehow you think this is their fault? If you do, you don't understand addiction very well. I've seen this exact thing happen to several people over the years and trust me, most of them would rather not be doing what they are doing but they are out of control due to addictive properties of the drugs interacting with their own genetic predispositions.

Also, the USA has less than 5% of the world's population and prescribes over 80% of the world's opiate drugs. So yes it is the fault of our American physicians. They give out narcotics like they are candy.

Or maybe your girlfriend is part of the broken system and her opinion is bullshit because she's been indoctrinated.

And maybe it's a complex issue that she has given more thought to than most because she is licensed to give out narcotic painkillers and while she follows the orders as given she absolutely hates opiate painkillers due to their addictive nature. She thinks reduction of inflammation is the cure for most (not all) but most chronic pain issues.

Interesting theory.

Between inflammation and pressure on the nerves (which can be caused by inflammation in many cases), I concur with her point-of-view.

I do believe "most" might be a tad on the high side though. I'd go with "majority."

Well if the pills weren't prescribed to them which we don't know if they were or not, but if they weren't then someone is obviously selling prescription pills and that there is a felony.

There is a difference between being prescribed something and taking the prescribed amount accordingly.
