Another murder in Granite City........Are you surprised? The people that the local news interviewed were totaly fake. Granite City has fallen to the pits since I was a kid. I can remember being able to play outside and not have to worry about some crackhead trying to catch a trick in front of me! Thats prolly what this is all about..........DRUGS.

I lived in Granite City for 35 years. And as a child growing up there it was nice we could play outside and our moms and dads did not have to worry . I moved 3 years ago and I am glad I did Granite City has went to hell. I was back there over the holidays and it was a mess. It is like no one cares. All you hear about is the drugs, crime, and someone being killed. What has happen to the people of Granite City. The only good thing I saw was KP was getting knocked down. Maybe they need to do that to some of the run down houses that are there on Missouri Ave. I am happy I moved looking at the way the town looks now. When did everyone stop caring?

The only reason KP is getting knocked down is so they can rebuild it. Wonderful huh?

Everyone quit caring when the Unions let down the steel workers in the 80's , who helped grow the town. Those were the smae workers who grew Granite and then they closed and took the hard working pensions of these good families.

As fr the poor young lady, murders in Granite are not new, I recall the Island as a kid a two women murdered on it, and there were many more, the only differance was there were more good families out numbering the bad. Now your local police are out numbered, its up to the community to jump in and help, and not give in to the crime. It's your town you have to take it back...Very Glad I moved myself.

Yes, I did know the girl very well. First of all, it wasnt a murder.thats for "noname" first of all, the people they interviewed were not fake. I dont know what channel you were watching. But it is a good rule of thumb, dont speak unless you know what you are talking about. You think you are so much better than the people in Granite City, you already have it figured out! Drugs, it must be drugs! No it wasnt drugs, which by the way is everywhere including where you live.(paradise city I guess)So before you so ignorantly make comments on people you dont know, you should think about her friends and family who lost her. Because you never know, it could of very well been one of your loved ones. Yes, even in Paradise City!!!

Patrick-
I know you are truely sad about Dani. You are one of the first people I thought about after I heard the news. We hadnt been around each other for quite some time. if it would be okay to e-mail you so that I can talk to you. I really cared about her and tried talking to her about her issues, thats the reason we ended up not seeing each other anymore. I do know she loved you, she never said anything bad about you to me.Again, im very sorry for your pain. It hurt us all.( EVERYONE WHO TRUELY CARED)

How could a town just give up on the community, if you want to build it back get rid of the crap, and start with the people in charge.

The high school is going to hell in a handbasket also. The kids can't go out to PE without someone breaking into their locker and stealing their things. The parking lot is not safe to park your car on during the day because of break in's and vadalism. I am so glad that my child is in her last year here. She is going away to college and never wants to return here again. Sure says a lot for the city that I have raised her in for 18 years!

Crime does not Discriminate, It is EVERYWHERE, IN EVERY TOWN, CITY, AND STATE.
My sister moved away, to the Country, to get away from all of the crime here in Granite City, only to find more then enough Drug Activity and Violence in the Country. There are so many Meth Labs in the Country,(a small Town in Missouri) that Planes Fly low over all the farms there, so low that she has to go inside her home because of the wind from the planes.
Dont keep your head in the sand, Crime is everywhere.
