Why is our Great Country suffering from Entitlement Addiction? Is it because there is no check and balance? I personally believe if everyone on Entitlements was tested for Drugs and if there were Trimonthly home visit to see if ever thing the person on the Entitlements stated when applying for there Entitlements still holds true. We would cut the Entitlements payed out by 50 to 65 percent. Commit any Felony (No More Entitlements)! Test Positive for any Illegal Drug (No More Entitlements)! Give False Statement when applying or while on Entitlements (No More Entitlements)! There are people on Entitlements living far better then people working full time Min-wage jobs. Often walking miles to work and back or riding 2 or 3 buses to and back from work. While some people on Entitlements drive there nice cars to the Entitlements office or food banks wearing brand name clothes fancy jewery and talking on up scale cell phones. No one on Entitlements should be living better then a person working a full time min-wage job.But still many do! Bring our Great Country back to what it use to be .((( Hard Work not Entitlements)))There is such a thing as helping someone and there is such a thing as Enabling. We have become a country of ENABLERS. Running to give people a hand out instead of a hand up.(((Stop The Entitlement Addiction ))) CHECK AND BALANCE!!!!!!!

If you are getting free money you should at least be required to do the same screening as a employee at McDonalds.
elcooksta, you can find any opinion you want on google, you need to cite a specific study. And no google is not your friend.

Not everyone on medical card or who get snap benefits does the things that you say! Myself, my fiancee and my daughter's get link and medical card. My fiancee works a full time job and makes just over minium wage and we still NEED these things to get by. I am a stay at home mom to.my daughter's but am considering getting a job because even with $200 in link and medical.benefits for my children we STILL cannot make ends meet. Do.I.have a smartphone? Yes, I do. But we do not have a computer, or house phone and both.are necessities so does that make me a bad person? I drive a crappy pos car that's always problematic and I have a fake coach bag. Do.I fit your standards for receiving benefits or are we just to good for it?!

Don't listen to the OP.

People who are jealous of the "glamorous" lives of those on welfare are just sad, unhappy people. Yes, people on welfare can afford a tv, and a cell phone, and even an x-box. That doesn't mean they have the world in the palm of your hand. If success in life is measured by sitting in a small room playing video games all day and eating discount bread from Aldi's then yes people on welfare all have it made. That's certainly not how I determine success, but we all have different goals in life. It's just odd that so many people seem envious of a typical 20 year old persons lifestyle.

You can't afford to be a stay at home mom if you're on welfare. If your fiance doesn't make enough to support you and your kids 1.) don't get married and 2) get a job. Staying home is for people who can afford it. Go to work please.

Wow what selfish people. Those less fortunate need help, not everyone can make the big bucks. If everyone had good paying jobs then who would serve you your fast food or sell you gas etc. It is one thing to have someone live within their means and another to expect people to suffer. Not everyone lives near a bus line. What about if you have to pick your sick child up from school and the bus comes 2 miles from where you live and it's 15 degrees out? They have a car that is cheap so what. That is not living outside your means. If she did work, with the price of childcare they would probably not be any better off and would still get some type of help whether it was still medical, snap and or help paying for child care. Unless the minimum wage is raised to a place where an average person with a small family can make it without help, help needs to be there and be provided. Bet you weren't aware that the US spends less to help their poor than just about every other industrialized nation? I once was a single mom with 2 small children after a divorce. I received no child support, worked 10 hours a day and still qualified for food stamps, medical and chasi. I didn't abuse the system, but I needed the help. Quit wining, some people need help and yes some people need help for years. Deal with it. I received help for about 4 years, until I remarried and my spouse makes enough to support us. Even drug addicts need benefits, but they should be required to attend counseling and rehab if needed. Their kids shouldn't suffer for what they do, but DCFS should get involved and get the person sober. If they don't want help of continue to use after a certain amount of time, then the children should be removed to a family member and the person should not get more state help. That's just my honest opinion.

No child support? Why? Was he a deadbeat? If so, did you throw his ass in jail? Still don't agree that someone who is crying poor should be a stay at home mom. Sorry, just not willing to give into the concept that people should work more than one job if that's what it takes. I've been on hard time before. I worked at a fast food place in the evening and a retail store at night. I worked on weekends mowing lawns around my apartment. Guess what? It took about a year before I got back on my feet but I didn't nor would I ever humble myself to take a handout from others. Get a job(w). Cut expenses and work your way out of your problem. Anyone ever tell you life was going to be easy?

--How come so many of you have two or more kids looks like when you had the frist one you would of seen that you could not feed house cloth or meet the 1st child medical needs your main thing would of been getting on birth control and makeing sure you had no more kids you could not meet the needs of I am glad you found a man that could meet your needs sounds like you will allways need someone to meet your needs for you 1st husban them the hard working tax payers and now husban number two and dont worry if the 2nd husban does not work out you can go back to the hard working tax payer or husban number 3--This forum started by saying people that do drugs ,commit a felony or gives false info to get help should be ban- So if she does not have a smart phone or a crappy pos car she will be suffering I know many people who work hard ever day and they have no crappy pos car or a smartphone they must really be suffering because they get no food stamps or other benefits like she does
