I also believe that the "lazy" card i mean link card should have the persons picture on it , just like a drivers license. The person would then have to show another form of id with it to make sure its that person. This way they cant just hand out the card to whoever to use it, which is usually in exchange for cash money/drugs/smokes etc... and before anyone goes on a soap box I AM NOT talking about the unfortunate people who have lost their job and had to apply for welfare,,, so back off ok peeps!!! My first comment of lazy means the lazy, simple as that ...the ones who are on it from generation to generation !!!!
Now that is an awesome idea. Keeping people from selling their damn food stamps...

I think they should do drug tests for tang an foodstamps there are people who get foodstamps that don't have a job an they drink an do drugs where's the money coming from to be able to do that I think if they can get money for drugs an alcohol they can get money for food

If I am required to take a drug test to be able to work at my job and pay my taxes which provides the funds for the "assistance" then why shouldn't the people seeking the assistance be required to take a drug test to receive the benefits????

it's a great idea in principle, but the reality of it pretty much sucks. The only drug that stays in the system more than a couple days is marijuana. So essentially you arent drug testing, you are testing for weed. Any idiot can go buy a container of fake urine with a handwarmer from the head shop for about 20 bucks. So only a true idiot would even fail one of these screens. Im thinking people who have made an entire life out of scamming the system will figure out how this one works pretty quickly.

As others have said, once you stop the welfare payments to someone with children you have now made wards of the state and that costs more to deal with than if you just gave them the welfare. How much are you willing to pay to be right about this?

When they implemented this plan in Florida, they stopped after about three months because they were spending millions on urine testing and catching so few people that it was adding huge amounts of money to the overhead costs of administering public aid without saving much money.

So the question is not whether or not welfare leeches should be drug tested, it is how much more are you willing to pay to make that happen? Is it worth an extra 1-2% tax increase?

Personally I think we need welfare halls. If you want a government check, you dont get to sit at home on your fat ass drinking soda and eating greasewiches all day. You must report to the welfare hall and stay there 8 hours a day. They can make you do public service work, or even rent you out to businesses for day labor.

You dont have to worry about testing. If they show up drunk or high to the welfare hall, they get cut off instantly. If they dont show up everyday, they get cut off instantly. Make it more of a pain in the ass to get the welfare check than it is to work.

Well, I loved this comment until I read about not getting there every day you get city off.
See, my mom isometric welfare. Didn't use to be, but that's a different story. She also works really hard for cash assistance. We don't have a car anymore, so she has to take the bus every where she goes. Sometimes, she doesn't even have the money for that and has to ask our neighbor to take her. She doesn't do drugs, or sell her link, but keep in mind that she has 4 kids including myself. How would she possibly get to the food pantry mon-thurs and still make it to the aid office as well to work 8 hours? She had to take off work Monday to ride the bus with my 5 year old brother to his doctor appointment, and she has to make up the hours she missed (which was about 6/7) by this week. She can only make up 2 hours a day considering she can't go in early and I guess they close up at a certain time. If she can't make her hours up, she gets cut off tanaf. She has to walk home, from dollar general down 111 every day. She works hard, and she's been applying for jobs every where. She doesn't care if it's McDonald's. But no one calls her..
Idk what we'd do if she didn't get a check and foodstamps every month. She'd probably sell the house and move into a shelter with the little kids while I went to stay with my soon to be father in law. This month, she's had so much trouble because my 14 year old brother decided to steal her bill money to buy drugs. Sometimes life does deal people a shitty hand, poor or wealthy.

There should be some way of earning money, assistance whatever. The government needs a way to make most of the people on aid. They can wait 4 hours to apply, then they can also come in and shred paper, community service, help at shelters, youth centers, etc. I mean seriously I know 3 people on aid that are fully capable of giving back. Now I know some people can not but shoot most people can. Stick them in the library to read to kids, pick up trash on the streets. They don't have time well make time in your busy day to give something for what your receiving. Bad back no problem...grab a mic an do some audio recording for blind youths. 1 of the people I know on aid lives better than I do. My husband and I work 40hrs plus a week. She can go site seeing, all her kids field trips, dr appointments anytime. She buys her kids Stuff all the time, does all that Tupperware, candle, home party stuff. She is getting all kinds of stuff but where is the payback to all of us who help her do all that, who's pay help pay for all that. It is such a frustrating program and situation to watch these people get by for free...for nothing. Something has to be done but drug testing is easily beat. What about pill poppers, heroin users, alcoholics. Welfare recipients should have big brother watching them just like we have uncle Sam watching us!

Definately needs to go into action. There are so may ppl that need this service and are denied for bogus bs and there are junkies who not only get it but sell their benifits to get more drugs while tbeir children have to go hungry. Its bull. Thats why the system is so f***ed up.

Damn right are you the one who got her evicted because she told you that you should be ashamed of youself for lying about her? You know that she has a case of discimantion because forcing her to pack and move after making her go through monthly inspections because of liars like you, while knowing she was really injured is going to cost them big bucks in the end? I mean if peope don't take this site seriously then why did the housing authority use it liable source unless it is a member on staff thats doing this to begin with. 10 inspections in a year after being informed of a medical problem was added hardship that caused more presonal injury. I think you dont realize how youre helping prove a case of discimination and defamation. She reported she had smoked but if they tested her today and she passes then whose in trouble now?

Why lie about a person to make yourself look good? I dont see her kids out running the streets and its clear your not a mom or youd know how hard it is for a single mom to manage especially with a injury.

If this is true then someone should inform housing of their unfair practices before they wind up paying for them.

I think some people just like to make and see other people suffer. I cant believe housing was so unprofessional in their conduct. Its hard to believe they used this website as an excuse to question her.

What lies did I say about her?

How does her pathetic life make me look any better?

I don't see how you can say it's hard to manage when the government takes care of all her needs. Now if she was a single mom trying to actually earn a living like a decent human being then she could claim it was difficult.

I also notice that you said people telling lies about her got her thrown out of government housing. Sorry dipshit, but she got herself thrown out of government housing by taking illegal drugs.
