Very nice facility. Rather empty most of the times I have been there (20 or so movies). Some staff outgoing and friendly, others won't say a word to you . Older gentlemen that collects tickets as you go in friendly. I believe there is a big lie about the profits this place brings in.

A real waste of taxpayer resources. Imagine how many streets could have been fixed?!?!?

I hear the popcorn is well over salted, the prices are outrageous, and the seating is worse than the airlines.

Should have just put in a casino and been done already.

Over salted popcorn? Outrageous prices? Poor seating?

If you have "heard" all of this it means you haven't patronized
it once.

From the tone of your criticisms, I would bet you are one of those
toothless, wife beater wearing, beer guzzlers who would forgo payin' the "light bill" to buy you and your welfare crumb snatchers two day's worth of armband rides at one of the many carnivals in town, swearing, "It's damn near as good as the DisneyWorld"...but won't buy a ticket to support our local cinema.

Or an elected local official who hated the cinema from concept to completion to begin with.

If you think the prices are outrageous (I dare you to compare to Edwardsville or Fairview), you probably can't afford to go any way.

So how about you don't worry about it?

He spends millions in taxpayer dollars to build a theater in a dying part of town that now doesn't do nearly enough business to turn a profit and is sucking up more taxpayer dollars aand I should be grateful?

You should be ashamed for allowing yourself to fleeced like this, sheep.

Well I have been to the theater. While it is a very nice facility that doesn't excuse the fact it is a huge waste of taxpayer dollars. Then, to build it in the location that they did makes it even more inexcusable. Government run theater is totally bad in any concept. But nothing Brother Eddie does surprises me.

I worry about it when my property taxes pay for it. Oh that is right I have a career, and am a taxpayer! Something I doubt you are.

I am not just a common sheeple around here.

No, I haven't been myself. Had enough people tell me about it though. That many opinions can't be wrong.

That money would have been best served in fixing streets.

You are absolutely right. It was a terrible waste of taxpayer dollars. Hmm, let's see, the economy is collapsing, the city and state are woefully run. What should we do??? Build a movie theater in a DEAD part of town. GREAT IDEA!

That Cinema in down town is nothing more than a big white elephant. The city should have built it up town some near where the old Nameoki Cinema was.

Nobody wants to drive down town next to that smelly steel mill and all those run down buildings to see some movie while the drug dealers, prostitutes and homeless stroll about outside.

It is a very nice new modern Cinema. It's just in the wrong place. The city could have and should have selected a better location.

I help get the new Cinema here. Me & friend(now ex-friend)was able to get 1264 people to sign a patition to get one here. As for the building its very nice & I am glad we no longer need to go out of town to see a movie when we got a perfectly good one here now.

Let me guess, you have friend that told that. Well, something tells me you rather spend up to $4 gas & go out of town insted of going to see one here. I think it was not a waste of tax payers money. So go see a movie in Edwardsville & stay there cause we don't want you hear.
