Thing is, even with the $8 jobs, most of them will still get sometype of welfare.

And all those new hires will still get government medical or even if they just go to the emergency room the taxpayers and people with insurance end up paying for the care.

Time for single payer insurance without restrictions on supplemental coverage.

And how many people with decent paying jobs will those walmart employees force out of work.

Walmart, helping America become a third world country.

I didnt fight the gooks and commies in Nam 40 years ago for some libtard to tell me where to shop at. Me and my wife Mavis hit the Walmart a couple times a week and save us enough money to stop at Macdonalds on the way back and chow down on a couple of doubel cheesebergers and large fries. You libtards can shop any freaking place you want and eat at the veteterian crap place where hairy legged lezbos with tatoos on their butts and rings in there noses serve you a plate of weeds and wheat germ and then you go to Starbucks and buy a 8 dollar yuppie cup of coffee but let us real Americans go to Walmart if we want to. Is that okay with you libtards? If it aint well who cares? Praise Jesus. Heading for Walmart right now.

Yes, us "yuppies" will buy our high priced coffee, shop at expensive grocery stores, drive our luxury vehicles and eat what you cannot afford. Having money is nice. Money I worked like a true American to get. By the way, is mavis your sister?

Whoopee! If anybody is looking for more proof that yuppies (and the rich in general!) are a bunch of pretentious, self indulgent, SNOBS look no further! Hey he "worked like a true American"! LOL I'll bet his wife like Mitt Romney's wife "drives a couple of Cadillacs" too! I'm just sooooooooo impressed...NOT!

No, not blood type. If you were smart enough you'd figure it out. I don't like quiche, just something about an egg pie doesn't sound right. I think you might have misinterpreted what I was saying. I didn't mean to belittle anyone, because I know there are people who work their whole life for not much in return. My father was one of those people. What I meant was, I don't care what the situation is, or what others think about me, my lifestyle, wife or whatnot, its not going to stop me from working towards the things I enjoy. Which happen to be the more lucrative and luxurious things. Even if our state, county or country is broke, I won't be.

Not a snob at all. Maybe I boasted a bit, but I was in the right. I did work. And hard. I got down and dirty everyday for a long time. I am I'm still in my twenties and have more than what most people don't at my age. And F Romney. And his wife. And Cadillacs are pos. Any American luxury is.

It sure sounded snobbish to me and I suspect it would to almost any rational person who reads it. Lots of people also work very hard, get "down and dirty" too, and don't find themselves rich at any stage in their lives. You're no better or no worse than them because you already have it made in your twenties and drive an IMPORTED (of course!) luxury car or can afford other extravagant luxuries of the rich and famous. Agreed on what you said about Romney and his wife! LOL I'm not knocking wealth per se you understand. Hard work certainly deserves it's rewards and lots of us would like to be where you're at!

Agreed. Believe me I hate snobs. That's why I live in Lincoln. Nice atmosphere of general people here. Just because I am successful does not mean I am any better than someone who works just as hard and has much less. But we are better than they, who do nothing and expect something to be handed to them. And even tho I do shop at expensive places and such, everyone is guilty of going to Walmart.

Now you are sounding very reasonable (a rare thing on Topix!) and I congratulate you on that! We have much that we can agree on after all! I feel the same way about Roseville you do about Lincoln. We can only hope that both will stay as nice and civilized as they now are. It sure beats living in South Sac or flatland Oakland! I also agree on slackers, have no use for them at all! Work ANY job, take care of your family & your financial obligations and you have my total respect! Looking for a free lunch or engaging in criminal activity? Nothing but contempt for you! I can even agree Walmart is the store we love to hate...but most of us shop there anyway, at least once in a while! Cheers!

When I saw the Hayward location on your post I figured you lived in a chicken shack on A Street; worked the night shift at Hunts cannery. And, suffered from delusions of grandeur. As long as you don't say anything nasty about Mr. Hunsacker, a true patriot and genuine war hero, we'll let you slide-- with your truffles and quiche.
Yeah, posting on a smartphone. It doesn't get the location right often. No, I work a morning to evening job and live in a great area in a nice house.

And for Mr Hunsacker... Ok, he's a "war hero" and "patriot", but I think he's the one is suffering from delusions and grandeur. I respect him in the aspect that he served, but don't respect the fact that just because he's served, he thinks the country should be run his way. And that he is comfortable living in mediocrity. I'm not bashing him... Just trying to figure him out. He claims he's a true American, but what he says, it confuses me.

Here we have more Walmarts going up. Now, that will definitely take away from the smaller grocery stores. Such as Safeway. Mom and pop shops. Where they get their goods from smaller distributors and local hardworking farms. You know, American stuff.

Now, this is America and there is free choice. But I'm a little dumbfounded when Mr fudgepacker I mean hunsacker says he will gladly shop at Walmart and grab a couple high quality dollar mcdoubles on his way out the door from good ol McDonald's.

See my view?

I work in Roseville. While there are a smaller group of undesirables there, they are tolerable. I like Roseville, lots of history. As with Lincoln.

I have lost much faith in Sacramento county areas. The people are... The opposite. Larger groups of undesirables, and smaller of the pleasant. While there are some mixed people here in Lincoln, with a few eyebrow raisers, they all seem friendly and standup. Always a smile Nd hello, which you don't get the more south you go.
Not a loser like you
