It certainly would be illogical for anyone in their right mind to take the life of a living human being let alone one so young that has done nothing to anyone. But wait!!! What about the 4000 babies murdered each day for the last 20 years for the sake of convenience ! But God will even forgive that sin. Any sin, ask for forgiveness and you will receive it. DMM

And the murders and rapes and robberies - that is why we have stopped listening to the news...

You must be hiding a very ugly skeleton in your closet to have such a judgemental view on this. What is your weakness?

I have seen such advertisements -- on Public transportation. As if such 'failings' occur only among those who are not well-off. The fact that this occured in Granite Bay is telling us that perhaps our perceptions of such behaviors is not what it should be. Oh, not every one in Granite Bay is "well-off", but such is yet another perhaps inaccurate perception.

Information on the Crisis Nurseries should be prominently displayed in the waiting areas in the office of every medical practice that deals with expectant females.

Announcements for the 'safe drop-off' locations for newborns should also be in every doctors office, displayed where those patients who might need them can SEE them.

Too bad women weren't biologically created to NOT be able to create a pregnancy unless she saw a doctor to get a magical "medicine" that creates temporary fertility. Sure would cut down on a lot of this kind of negligende & crap. This woman should never EVER be allowed to have children again. Don't give me that PPD b.s. either.

ppd is a real problem and one doesn't know if they will get it until after a few days. it is not the fault of anyone. just one of those things that can occur. the hospitals release moms way to early these days and i personally think if a new mom stays in the hospital 3-5 days after birth like it used to ne there may be a chance it can be detected before a tragedy strikes. my heart goes out to this family and all others that have been thru it.

I agree with you. GOD is the only one who can judge. I will never understand why mothers kill their kids but I do feel they are not sane when they commit these crimes. I feel sorry for the family to have to deal with something so tragic and unexpected. May GOD Bless!

I don't know Fifth...that's a very over rated word. For me anyway.
For me its like always seeing an open door on a subject and getting used to the fact that it is open, and unfinished, and incomplete and will stay this way for eternity.
I lost a brother at 18 and there has never been a closure, just a void. A void that as the years go by I look into less and less.
Having said all this, I can't imagine what the poor mother has gone through to think the only way out of this situation was to kill this precious child. It baffles the mind...
Michael, I agree that "closure" is a myth propogated by people who tire of hearing of one's loss of a family member, etc. I agree that not looking into the void is an option that has worked for me.

I have even stopped, for the most part, going to the cemetary which makes me feel very sad because I am not visiting my loved one. Maybe I will visit her in a couple of weeks on what would have been her 20th birthday.

May you find peace however you can. I know it's tough and sometimes impossible on certain dates of the year, when a specific song comes on the radio, when we see other people enjoying their kids/grandkids, etc.

Be well.

As for this case, this woman took the life of an innocent child, she should pay by whatever means is deemed appropriate by society (judge, jury, etc). PPD may be the issue but if it is truly a mental illness than this person should be committed and treated accordingly. They chemicallly castrate soem sex offenders, maybe this is a case where she should not be allowed to be subjected to the stress of child rearing again. IMHO

Oh....here we go with the Bible Thumpin'. I work with some very nasty women who go to church every Sunday. I'm not saying the woman who drowned her baby was mean OR nasty....I'm just saying....just because you atten mass, doesn't mean you are sin free. I choose not to go to church and be a hypocrite just like them. I do what I believe is good in my heart all the time. I know that going to service on a Sunday is not going to miraculously clear me of my sins from the prior week. Plus, I was forced into private school as a child. Back when the means nuns ran it. I think i've had enough brain washing.

you really ought to give God some thought. The nuns got me too and I had had enough but then the ONE that counts got me 30 years later. If we truly seek after God He will be found or we can go along our merry way. In fact eat, drink and be merry But someday we will die and face judgement. God does not want to brain wash you, He is just calling you and it is His desire that you respond of your own free will.

I'm going to venture out on the thin ice of a skating pond here, but I have no problem making a very negative judgment here.

I don't think God enters into this tradgedy, otherwise the child might still be alive.

More appropriately, perhaps, kill oneself before you are to kill others.

I gave God lots of thought in grammar school. I sometimes attend service back in my hometown when I am there & visiting my Grandmother's grave -thank you very much.

My advice recommends killing oneself before killing others.

I have no desire to kill others, therefore my advice does not apply to myself.

My advice to you is that you read and understand.

If you don't understand, then ask, before insulting others. If that doesn't work, insult yourself first.

This is not from the original Robespierre posting, as I know them well. Besides he doesn't spell tragedy with 2 "d"s.

This is not the original Robespierre that posted this as they would not spell tragedy with 2 "d"s. The fake, poseur Robespierre needs to go back to school.
