I'm sure thats not the kind of support that Courtneys family need right now. They just lost their precious daughter, have a heart.
Where in my post do you see me proclaim my Christianity?

Courtney's father will wish he took my advice when the b*tch gets 4 stinky years and serves half for good time. She'll probably get even less than that when the DA works out a plea agreement. I am the father of a wonderful 5 year old who is the center of my universe. You take that away from me because of the negligence of some old drunk woman who doesn't have the common decency to stop when she hits something. And I will take justice in to my own hands. Sure I'll do a little time, but it's justified in my book if someone kills my child.

I feel for Courtney's family I really do. But you CAN NOT put faith in our legal system to punish this woman for taking their daughter away. That should be up to Smith and Wesson.

I cant believe the maximum this lady can get is 4 years. That makes me sick!!! That poor girl never had a chance at life and this lady will be back on the streets in less than 4 years. Where is the justice?

Jonell - who said David is a Christian? Only Christian people have a heart?
I myself am not a christian, but an eye for an eye is quoted from the bible. Justice will be served, but hopefully not by some gun toteing nut in the courthouse in front of Courtney's family. A fifteen year old girl died. I don't think anyone wants to hear about retaleation.
Just wondering

The bible says,"an eye for an eye" So he was being Christian.

Not sure why you had to talk down to me in your response. Hope it made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Simmer down, it's Friday.
Often times I've seen suspects arrested within days. I was curious if this woman's zip code had anything to do with it.
I would have to agree with the guy on the first part in that this was a relatively fast arrest, there are a lot of variables to look at and be sure it checks out. Basically, she lied, and there are many other factors the DA has to look at before considering what kind of charges would apply in this situation. I never believed this woman's story that she thought she hit something else. Any driver would have stopped just to see what they had hit, she didnt.

And yes, you are right that there are those who are arrested within days. But you also have to look at everything the police have on hand to make such a quick arrest.

It will always come down to what the police and the DA have in their hands to work with. I've seen cases that have taken longer that are similar in nature, some even take years. At least they now are moving toward the truth and hopfully punish her accordingly to the law.

Please understand this is time to be Thankful that Finally the lady is getting Punishment for what she has done. I understand she deserves a lot but we have the system to be mad at if any of us feels its not enough... Now we should be posting our Thoughts, Concerns, and messages to the family and friends to feel good an Positive about... You know giving each other cheap shots is not what they are hoping for they would like to hear and feel everyone's positive thoughts not the fighting....
For the family and friends: I was honestly devastated when I seen such a Young Beautiful Girl taken too soon from us... This story made my cry at first and when I went to the lake shortly after I just went into silence when going by the area... I just stared at the taco bell and said a prayer.. I did not go to the site but I was close enough to remember her and I looked back at my kids and became even more grateful to have them with me... I hope the days are now filled with more understanding and being able to smile of the though or memory of her...I understand you will always feel the pain, just remember she is at a place with no fear, pain or crime and is smiling while watching you contenue life knowing she will be with you again.

First off I didn't realize I was being Christian, I'll choose my words more wisely next time.

And that gun toting nut you speak of should be that poor girls father.

Our justice system's guidelines could not punish this drunk ol' bag enough for taking that poor little girls life! Do you really think 4 years will be enough punishment? That little girls family will suffer the rest of the time they spend on this earth.

Let's take a moment and reflect on Ellie Nessler. This was a woman who shot and killed the perp who was molesting her son. She probably would have walked if it hadn't been for the drugs that was in her system. She spent a little less than 4 years in the clink for serving up her own justice. Now the only downfall I see there is she missed out on 4 years of her sons life.

In this case I see nothing to lose now that their daughter's been taken from them. The only way to serve justice in this case is to serve it up yourself!

That doesn't compute with me either. Hit and run involving a fatality should be more than just a misdemeanor, I would think felony would be more appropriate.
I drive by the scene of the accident almost daily and it breaks my heart every time I go by, I really try to look the other way. My condolences to the family.
Hopefully justice will prevail and the appropriate punishment handed down.

If all roads had proper curbs and sidewalks the incdicence of these accidents would be greatley reduced. I know of streets that grade school children routinely walk to school on with not only no sidewalks and curbs but no shoulder!

Ellie Nessler was a crankster who got real lucky the cops didn't drop her in that courtroom. I am glad Daniel Driver is dead, Ellie was a damn crankster.

I am so glad to see that some progress has been made in this case.
I have a child that is this poor girls age and one that is older. I know for a fact that if someone took my child from this earth in a manner as negligent and cold as this woman did....nothing at all would stop me from taking the law in to my own hands. That child did not deserve to be left in the road to die. Only a cold hearted coward could do such a thing.
My current goal is to try to get some legislation passed that protects our children from acts such as this. If you hit someone and leave them to die you should be charged with murder if they do die. In my eyes she committed a murder. I look forward to your support if I can get this somehow passed.
My heart goes out to the family. Hopefully you can find some comfort in the fact this woman has been arrested. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughters friends as well.
GOD BLESS!

Forget shooting her - run her over with an SUV and show her what it feels like.

So what if she was a crankster. I hate cranksters too. But in this case a crankster actually did something of value. She served it up nice and I would have done the same. If I was to take a hit by a cops bullet then so be it. Ellie still rocks, and many people sided with her.
I couldn't agree more!
