Then your post that I was referring to was completely unintelligible. You did mention something about about Obama and his Koran and something else about certain he was a foreigner. In any case you didn't make a whole lot of sense so I had to fill in between the lines. And did I post something to make you think you and Go Blue are the same person?
I lose to no one Beaver but I will certainly piss you off.
Nope, not me. I never got into the whole Obama and his birth certificate, Muslim, grades, etc. Heck, I have yet to hear him make an intelligent argument for anything so I don't need to go to that other stuff. It's too easy to just show show the stupid stuff he says and does now.

And you'll never piss me off. I'm not 16. Heck, the Eastern Michigan football team is more important than you are, and I don't even know if there is an Eastern Michigan football team.

I do wish there were more people who wanted to have real discussions rather than sling names but I haven't seen much of that. I don't know if it is just this area or if Topix as a whole as gone down.

I'm fine. Do you care to explain the point you were trying to make in your rather incoherent comment? I admit that I mistakenly attributed your comment to Beaver but, since you actually posted it, would you mind explaining what you were trying to get to? Obama, the Koran, and foreigner and mindset of the tea party were a little too much for me.

Your whole response was lost on just one comparison...you used Grand Rapids as your basis...I used D.C. and the surrounding area. There is no comparison...no parallel, not even close.
I realize where you are coming from because I lived in West Michigan for over 50 years...and then moved here to the D.C. area. You have no idea what you are talking about...and I mean that in a nice way...come here and live and see and experience what the core feels like. Unless you've been here you can't know what it's like.
Yes, it's going to, and will, impact a lot of people here...a good portion of the 800,000 that will not get paid for the 2+ weeks they did not work. I used to think I knew what you think you know until I came here...try it...
Except this is not the DC forum, it's the GR forum. I'm pretty sure we've never had a discussion about who should be Mayor of DC. That's for the DC forum. And I've only lived in this area for a year. I've lived in lots of places and while I said that it did hit DC harder than other places, that was an argument for breaking DC up, not having sympathy for DC.

I don't remember the guys name but there used to be a comic that had a bit about people who built in a flood plane and then there houses would flood. They would be on the news talking about how their house had floated away just like it had a few years ago. And then he would call them idiots and yell MOVE YOU BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP. He would do the same thing with people who lived in California and complained about earthquakes or those who lived in Phoenix and complained about the heat. IT'S A BLEEPING DESERT YOU BLEEPING MORON!!

Yes, DC got hit a little harder by this but there are lots of articles that show that while the rest of the country was and still is getting hit by the recession, it never touched DC and the surrounding area.

You compare what happened to the housing market in Vegas and DC and then try to sell me the DC sob story.

See, many of us in this country didn't get paid for months, not just two weeks at some point over the last four years. And we didn't get back pay when we went back to work. The policies of the progressives sound great but when put in place, they do more harm than good. The phrase "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" is the political slogan of the progressives and has been since the 1700's.

You keep making fun of the folks in the Tea Party, but according to the New York Times (definitely not on the right or even in the middle) their survey found: Only 26% of tea-party supporters regard themselves as working class, versus 34% of the general population; 50% identify as middle class (versus 40% nationally); and 15% consider themselves upper-middle class (versus 10% nationally). Twenty-three percent are college graduates, and an additional 14% have postgraduate training, versus 15% and 10%, respectively, for the overall population. Conversely, only 29% of tea-party supporters have just a high-school education or less, versus 47% for all adults.

And it was the African Americans and Hispanics that put Obama into office. Do you really want to compare income and education of the "teabaggers" to those who put Obama into office? If you think those in the Tea Party are stupid, given the facts, what does that make those who supported Obama and, as we recently say can't read or write in cursive but have a B average in HS? I'm willing to bet any amount that those in the Tea Party, can not only read and write in cursive, but can read from it out loud and don't need a telepromter using standard type.

It wasn't Palin or Cruz. It was Larry Klayman of Freedom Watch. And perhaps he was responding to Obama's statement opening the International Museum of Muslim Cultures while ordering the open-air WW2 museum closed.

"The Muslim community deserves our full acceptance and respect," Obama said. "We have killed millions of Muslims overseas since the September 11th attacks. They are not all bad. In fact most of them are good. So during this shutdown, now is a great time to learn about the faith of Islam. I encourage all of you to celebrate the Muslim community, the 'Sunnah' and the magic of the 'Quran'. All of this can be found at the newly re-opened International Museum of Muslim Cultures."

So you agree with the President that government funds should be used to keep the Muslim museum open while at the same time be used to baracade the open parks/monuments/museums in DC?

They keep forgetting that the personal mandate for Obamacare kicks in next year. Yup...folks are going to be super-duper pissed when they start figuring out how much this train wreck is going to drain from their bank accounts and they know exactly who to blame for it. My only question is going to be how much damage control the D-baggers are going to be able to come up with in their scramble to dismantle Obamacare in face of very, very angry constituents.

Yes, and maybe you should expand your reading. Here's an article from a hugely pro-Obamacare paper.
http://www.mercurynews.com/nation-world/ci_24...

I think this is the perfect quote from an Obamadrone:
"I was laughing at Boehner -- until the mail came today," Waschura said, referring to House Speaker John Boehner, who is leading the Republican charge to defund Obamacare.
"I really don't like the Republican tactics, but at least now I can understand why they are so pissed about this. When you take $10,000 out of my family's pocket each year, that's otherwise disposable income or retirement savings that will not be going into our local economy."
Both Vinson and Waschura have adjusted gross incomes greater than four times the federal poverty level -- the cutoff for a tax credit. And while both said they anticipated their rates would go up, they didn't realize they would rise so much.
"Of course, I want people to have health care," Vinson said. "I just didn't realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally."
Perfect example of the liberal empty mind. "I want people to have (insert here), I just didn't realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally."

Hey, I'm just giving other sides. Have you gone on to the Exchange? I have and in a short while I'm going to get my 2014 rates from my employer. I'm willing to bet I'm going to be ticked off. The question is if I am just ticked or royaly infuriated.

When you have a program that, before it starts it upsets 48% of the population, and then after implementation, it only has to tick off another 10% and the D's are screwed.

Do you think that of the 52% of the folks who supported Obamacare, that less than 10% are going to see their rates go up? Because if it is more than 10%, 2014 isn't going to be pretty for the D's.

BTY, comparing my current plan to the Exchange, to get the same coverage with the same insurance company, my plan more than triples. I mean come on. If are you really willing to pay $1,000 per MONTH more for health insurance?

Obamacare Supporter:‘Of Course I Want People to Have Health Care, I Just Didn’t Realize I Would Be the One Who Was Going to Pay for It Personally’

If 10% of Obama supporters say the same thing.....D's are in trouble.

Because you the poster boy for stupidity. And if people voted for him, that makes them as stupid as you. And speaking of stupidity, how many times did you vote for Stabemnow and Ole comb over Levin? How about Obama? See, stupidity grows by leaps and bounds in little boys like you.

He has no job, that's why he can post on here 24/7.
He claims that he has a job, but since he posts on here all day long, it's hard to believe it.
He's also all over those health care threads and after seeing that Obamacare will cost him some $700 a month, he's whining about that because he voted for Obama because he thought he'd get free health care.
Typical lemming.

Sure, it was available on many places on the web, including:
http://nationalreport.net/obama-uses-money-op...

Later it was revealed to be a hoax but that was after all the speeches and stuff. What I find interesting is that when the story first broke, both sides believed it. There aren't any stories of the D's saying it was fake or distancing themselves from the supposed comments of the President.

What made it work was that it was believable to many folks, both opponents and supporters.

Of course you would infer that you knew that it was fake all along and just now decided to post the piece?

You actually believed it was real right up until you read the disclosure on NewsCorpse which I just posted a few minutes ago?
