Way to go Grandview Fire Department! This grant was written by a couple volunteers who really want to see Grandview be a safe community. These are very competitive grants so this is a great accomplishment.

Apples and oranges. Why should you NOT upgrade equipment at the Fire Department? Volunteers at the FIRE deparment applied for grant money to assist THEM in protecting their community and citizens from FIRE and accidents. That's what the grant money was there to do. If police are having problems let them apply for grant monies to help them with that problem.

of these creeps
they need to move back to the place where they came from

What does gang problems have to do with the fire department? They work to help people, yep even gang members or victims of gang members. When those two boys got shot by the high school, they came and helped the crying boys in blue. If someone gets shot because of gang problems, it is good to know someone can come to their aid.
The GFD has been using other fire departments hand-me-downs. Now they will have their own. They need the protective gear when working on a house fire or responding to a meth house.
What have you done lately to help your town? Are you out there cleaning up graffiti? Are you working to give kids something else to do - rather than join a gang?
Or are you just in it to sit and spin?

If you can find a town anywhere that doesn't have a gang problem...just wait a few days and it will.

My FD alone has received several FEMA fire grants, its very hard this day in age for a lot of volunteer organizations to receive a reasonable contract to cover expenses of fuel, training, and equipment, as well as the advancement of the technology held within the walls of our fire stations, to keep up with the ever changing scope of the Emergency response field today. This also includes NFPA and OSHA requirements, which continue to change all the time. Contact your congressional rep, or senator on the state and federal level today and voice your support for the FEMA fire acts continuation today. Because it could be you or your home that we could be coming to assist tomorrow.
