Thank You! The Fair Political Practices Commission has only validated what almost all residents of our town have known all along however it is nice to get it in writing from and OFFICIAL source! Way to go Sally, your a class act through and through and the folks that matter are behind you. By folks that matter I mean us that LIVE her, actually rest our head on a pillow at night within the city limits and not those using a rental property or business address to meddle in the affairs of a city they don't reside in! Sally for Mayor!

No conflict of interest?! You've got to be kidding me. Put them in jail and throw away the key. Let's investigate them like those other criminals down in Bell!

I assume, Me Too, that surely you are referring to the Millers and if that is the case I fully agree. To vote on using our City money to support his newspaper IS indeed criminal, perhaps that is why he was, oh I don't know.... ARRESTED! If your only views of the world around you are force-fed to you from the Cyber Bully site of the Grandpa Terrace group than it is completely understandable how you have such a screwed up point of view. There was no criminal act on the part of Sally or the Chamber of Commerce, this whole thing is just another attempt to keep the focus OFF of the fact that the candidates being put up for election by Grandpa Terrace, read Sandoval, Walt, have no qualifications to run a city. This is not a game, its real and we need, deserve real answers from real leaders not some hidden group of haters directing things from the shadows.

Mr. Hagen is a nice young man, too young and inexperienced to be reporting in Grand Terrace.
It shows in his articles. He has openly allowed himself to be easily befriended by those who created the corruption and chaos in our city. That type of naive and political inexperience is what plagued Mr. Wall in his decade reporting Grand Terrace,he was befriended and used,to our city's detriment, now we are sent Hagen.Good grief Charlie Brown.

Fortunately I was recently introduce to our own local Grand Terrace blog. http://grandterracenews.blogspot.com/

Sally has been running and paying her Chamber printing and mailing bills out of our tax dollars. Just because the FPPC did not investigate further does not mean no wrong doing was committed. Hundreds of thousands of our city tax dollars were spent for the Blue Mountain.

Funny how suddenly last month- after Sylvia Robles' courageous complaint to the FPPC-Sally has stopped this illegal practice!!!!!!!!!! Hmmm. We citizens are informed.

We need Sylvia Robles to protect our money and interest in City Hall.

Wow, could you be ANY more condescending there? "that nice young man doesn't have the experience to write about REAL issues"... in a town of 13,000 with ONLY 6,000 registered voters, that cant get out of its own way while surrounding cites are enjoying an economic recovery! You REALLY need to get over yourself as the little hill we live on is not so high that the air would be thin enough to excuse your delusions of grandeur pal. The Grandpa Terrace organization is NOT the voice of the people as you would like to believe, its isn't a 'blog either friend, its a one sided page of hate. When some one 'goes against' the views of this little group of Cyber Bullys they are persecuted and slandered into oblivion by a group that hides in the shadows behind a keyboard. The way they have attacked an old lady with their public decimation for point out REAL corruption is the same as the horrible people that called out that young man back east online. Cyber Bullys are Cyber Bullys, there is no lessor degree of wrong when it comes to bullying!
I do believe in the right that we have to speak freely, most genuine good comes from debate. If your almighty Grandpa Terrace had nothing to fear in their 'exposure of truth' why don't they allow comments to be posted directly to the site? Because if you don't simply lie down and agree with them you are wrong, you are the enemy and you must be destroyed. Dont worry though, I wont be disappointed that you don't get it, I wouldn't expect actual intelligence from some like you any ways. Run back to your Grandpa and be force fed your next opinion...

Actually, Wrong is a very appropriate name to write under you moron! "Just because the FPPC did not investigate further does not mean no wrong doing was committed."
You should have kept goin with your thought there dude, "just because some suits in a State office, that have a lot of degrees and knowledge and stuff say there is nothing wrong doesn't mean there isn't SOMETHING wrong! Take it from me, I'm smart, I know stuff and I say its wrong!"
The Chamber and its paper are about business in Grand Terrace and the keeping of business dollars in Grand Terrace by informing its residents of the very business that need their support. I know this will go right over your head Wrong because its an idea based in positive growth and not negative stagnation such as your kind has kept our town in for the last few years. Give up on forcing the State to do your dirty work guys, you and your 'Grandpa' need to look for your next campaign to pull our town into submission cause this dog isnt hunting for ya!

Tina,
Your First Post has an error in it. Walt, Does live in Grand Terrace, in addition to the fact he has had a business here in Grand Terrace for 22 years.

Second, Test if your post is rejected or not prior to saying that It would be rejected.

Why is because some folks go around and post adds for Male relted Drugs or Services which there was no way to stop other than to get input via email.

Voice of Reason:
Possitive Growth does not include to many of all the same More Liquor Stores/Points of Purchase per capata than Compton. Possitieve is not tearing down houses and pushing actual spendable incomes out of town. That is less money in the economy to buy fewer goods and services.

So Tina, and Reason... the email is [email protected] make your case for Sally.

If Sally was interested in serving all of Grand Terrace she would have at least sent an email to our readers with an introduction. Did she do this. Nope, she has a segment of the community she will serve and they have a particular non news source for information. The Feel good Grand Terrace Promotional Rag called the Blue Mt. Outlook. That is not a news paper, but a monthly promotion of Grand Terrace. Not one crime report or real report of what happens inside City Hall.

So if the Voters want La La Land, and not be Real with the Situation, Sally may well be the person you vote for. That is for the voters to pick. At least the selection should be based upon knowing the history of City Operations and how GT got to where it is.

Sally, Tina, Reason. Gramps awaits your email..

Oh if the Blog posting the story about the Chamber and the FPPC is wrong, than so are the Sun and The Press, why no hate posts directed at them. Oh is that because their papers will decompose over time in the land fill or be made into toilet paper? The blog keeps a repository of all their stories for the public to view in a historical perspective all in one place.
Anyone who suggests that such an activity is Angery or Hateful, then that person desires to keep citizens uniformed so they can be manipulated. NO ONE EVER suggested Sally was of this type. As a matter of Sally has been a realtive unknown in regards to the discussion and participation in civic issues other than those limited to the Chamber of Commerce. The city's needs are more dynamic than just those covered by the Chamber of Commerce.
She should have put her case and qualifications on the Blog, if she were interested in an infomed voter base, and being inclusive of all members of Grand Terrace community. No it appears she has a particular voter base she is going to serve and is not interested in expanding it.
Even if the dog don't hunt, it Barks... eventually it will have enough attention... When the blog is read by 200-500 people or more daily that is an indication people are looking for information. Perhaps you dont need to address the low lifes who read the blog... No need to inform the public of your views.
Oh yes, ever increasing property prices is your goal. Your not the Rent is too High Candidate, your the Pay More for Your House, Business Candidate, and then you'll know the City is in good shape candidate.

Sally, Tina, Reason the Gramps folks EAGERLY await your email, which will of course have your IP address so they can use all the tools at their disposal to track you down and find you. Perhaps your dog may go missing, you might begin receiving bills for magazine you never subscribed to or better yet your car may get broken into.....

Gramps is right, this town should NOT encourage business development. Lets follow Coltons lead and not give into big business. They held ground on CostCo, wait, oh yeah CostCo picked up and left! They continually worked AGAINST the Snow family and subsequently the Moss Group, oh wait, now they dont have a car dealership in town anymore either... Yeah business is bad for a town and skewing the point by saying it would only be more liqueur stores, well that means more drunken violence right Gramps and no one wants that because then people would get all liquored up and exercise their "Free Speech" by verbally assaulting old ladies in the women's room, oh wait you LIKE it when that happens... I'm confused Gramps, you keep jumping the fence on your views...
So in your directive to Sally you said that if Sally were really interested in 'serving Grand Terrace' she should have emailed YOU? All must bow down to the Almighty Grandpa Terrace, obey us, follow our instructions and perhaps we will ALLOW you to be Mayor... Isn't that right Gramps? I'm just saying.

Dearest BlogReader_Poste r,
"The blog keeps a repository of all their stories for the public to view in a historical perspective all in one place."
Actually the blog acts as suppository to assist the release of all the crap that the Gramps group has built up within them from all those years of not being able to actually accomplish anything worthwhile themselves and being relegated to watching from the shadows...
"The city's needs are more dynamic than just those covered by the Chamber of Commerce."
So, someone with well over 20 years of ACTUAL business experience working for GE Capitol couldn't possibly understand the complexities of running a city but a meat cutter can?
"She should have put her case and qualifications on the Blog"
All must bow down to the Almighty Grandpa Terrace in order to be recognized as worthy....
I'm just saying.

When you have something of value to respond to we will. Facebook membership is only so we can read up on issues regarding GT.. We meet people face to face and have real time relationships.

I already have your isp addresses... my blog site meter counts and records them. Your dogs are safe, and so are your cars. I don't have a reason to track you down, your views demonstrate well enough to the public, who you are and what your views are. There is no need to know who you are or what your names are.

For politicians to neglect an opprotunity to address a block of voters is often a political error. There is a big difference between a demand to submitt a post and an offer to post. Randy Blue Mtn, and Terrace Tina hide their names while then pointing fingers at the same practice by Grand Pa Terrace. In addition their attempt to define what a blog is shows that they want to dictate the use of the media. A blog can be open or not. That is up to the Blog Administrator.

Yes some site meters do collect data such as isp addresses, but unless you have additional resouces the isp address does not get you much further. No one has ever suggested that Gramps sends unwanted email or spam.

So your mad about what. Your mad that Bea Cortes was exposed by the Sentinel, but you blast the blog? Your mad that Bea Cortes form 460's were published showing her support is from out of town? Your mad that the documents showing the home purchased for Tom Schwab was a deal made prior to the date the home was purchased by the City? Your mad because the Sentinel reported the Criminal Investigation Tom Schwab Stopped. Your mad because Jim Miller took responcibility for what he did and accepted a reasonable sentence for the infraction. What is it your mad about.

Your mad because you don't want the other candidates to have their 460's out in public. You know Sally McGuire, Doug Wilson, DeDe Sternberg, Tom Schwab, Richard Loder, Darcy McNaboe all who did not provide their reports to the blog, even after the blog offered to publish them for them. You see that Sandoval, Robles and Stanckiewitz provided their documents and your upset they got coverage for being transparent and your candidates did not take advantage of the same media opprotunity?

So your randy and your real funny. Your support for Sally Mc Guire is clear. Her 20 years at GE is ..... What we don't need is to put another Bernie Madoff in GT City hall. She did not communicate with sufficient number of voters to convence them that she was a person they could trust as Mayor. So Yes, a man with 20 years small business expereince and other professional experience and a clearly better run campaign won. Isn't it about time you get over it?

The hhtp://grandterracenews.blogsp ot.com is easy to communicate with and will post just about anything about Grand Terrace it can find and is provided to it. I provide them with a story now and then, and request that I am not put on the email list, and Never have I been added. So I have no fear, course I have nothing to hide.

Utilizing the same practice is a better way to put it I would say.
I would also say that I am not mad about anything, really. I do have severe reservations about the tactics in place by the Grandpa Terrorist organization. Thank you for clarifying the variuos types of blogs for me, I may have been confused but not really. My question was to the point that Gramps has their site labeled as a 'forum'. Yes they do post some emails, some. The ones they can lace with editorial commentary or that make the point they are spinning.
Yes the Sentinel outted some questionable activity that may or may not have taken place however, they did not relentless pursue the participant with a public campaign of humiliation. No, its not ok simply because she is in public office and should be able to handle it!
Again Mr Miller took responsibility for his actions AFTER making them and then subsequently being arrested for them! Its real easy to apologize but as always; Integrity is how you behave when you absolutely sure no one is looking! Would Mr Miller been so sorry had it never come to light?
Its funny that although I never said who I was going to vote for the assumptions that have been made. I voted for Doug, as I had planned all along and still believe to be the best choice. Experience, professionalism and character. I was impressed I will admit with how well Sally's run was in light of how late she came to the party, I respect her experience and look forward to the future and what she will do in it.
As far as a guy who runs a small business being our Mayor.... He runs a business, which means he has limited time. He will inevitably HAVE TO RELY on the advise of others! Its those OTHERS I have problems with. His 'boss' orchestrated the entire thing, from his running 'partners' to the split vote. She knew how to make it happen and she did, now she's the Mayor.Yes, it WAS a better run campaign, and run by a pro. Walt can slice meat, probably really well. he was an H/R guy, over 20 years ago so he may remember SOME aspects of management but running a city is well outside of his expertise so perhaps we should consider ourselves lucky he is only a figurehead?
We all look to others for advise and council, its normal. When we like people we tend to accept what they say without question and not asking what the agenda may be. Its this influence that I fear. Five years ago it was 'fun' to read the rants of Gramps, I even thought it a bit informative to read the synopsis of some of the goings on around City Hall. As time progressed I saw patterns begin and realized that although we all have agendas, whose agendas are we reading? We don't know the Grandpa Terrorist organization or their expertise. Whose to say what it is really that they are trying to accomplish?
Again I say; whats good for the goose, should also be good for the chihuahua. I'm just saying.

Miller raised the question about the payment long before there were charges of any kind. He asked for clarification as to the issue and accepted responcibility for the action when it was properly charged. Even then if the matter had gone to the FPPC there would not have been such a penalty attached to the issue. Or are you new to the goings on at the City Hall and you just simply don't have the history under your belt? Boy you need to re-read the blog you hate. Gramps wanted Miller to go to trial. Gramps / the blog were some of the first to suggest the payments were a problem. The inflation of the charges don't make the DA/Berry /or Cortes look good, if you just stopped there.

Mr Miller heard the whispers and saw the writing on the wall that he was going down, he made the preemptive move of being the one to bring it up first solely because he knew he was caught. He had hoped by being the instigator and pleading ignorance in his mea culpa that he would be forgiven quickly based on his immaculate history of selfless servitude. He had no idea it would get to the point of his arrest. As for the Gramps folks wanting his prosecution, it was a calculated 'disagreement' meant only to keep us dimwits from assuming that the Millers and Gramps are as CLOSE as they are. Just as the recent 'disagreement' they had with Walt, sometimes they need to speak against those that serve them, just to keep up the image. I'm sure many discussions were held prior to Walts votes and he was informed that the Gramps folks would publicly differ from his position, the one he was given by them in the first place, and further told not to worry about it as they got him the chair after all and of course they have his back.
New? No not at all. Hate the blog, nope. Just have a better understanding of who is pulling the strings, or punching the keys over at the Grandpa Terrorist organization now. Its much easier to read when you know whats really being said. I'm just saying.

Wrong again Randy Blue Mtn.

I wanted the trial because it would force more detail of the goings on in City Hall out in the open.

The Blog pointed out the possible conflict the first time Miller voted on a payment. Millers questioning was soon there after. The documents should you care to read them are on the blog. If the facts actually mattered to you.

As a point of fact, he learned of the City's arrangement with his wife's news paper after the service was negotiated by Schwab/ Berry and City Staff. They not he set the stage from the onset of the chain of transgressions to follow.

Your fear of What Will Walt Do, is being transferred to the Millers your readers should ask what is the reals base of your fear? Or where is the real issue you have with Walt, your new Mayor.

From your prior statements, it has to do with his lack of support for business yet you have not provided a case or example where his actions were anti business. Nor have you provided any business suggestions that are not on the table.

Your statements suggest fear that he is Anti Chamber of Commerce, and that there will be some dramatic change in the support the City of Grand Terrace Provides the Chamber of Commerce. Can you support that fear with an action he has taken to lead you to that conclusion?

The fact is that all contracts and relationships that the City has as a Governing Body are being reviewed as a result of the necessary hiring of a new City Manager. If those relationships need to be refined, to be legal, and proper, and be of service to the City and only to be of service to the other party say the Chamber of Commerce in this example, than buck up let's get things right (as in legal, for both entities),and move forward. There is room for the City of Grand Terrace and a Chamber of Commerce in Grand Terrace, they should not be joined at the hip.

I for one would welcome a business that employed people who make something in GT and not just more retail. More Retail shops only re-distributes where we spend our money, it does not add to the economic base which would provide the increased income available to be spent in existing retail stores and possibly support additional retail demand in the future. I suggest a review of Micro and Macro Economics may help you grasp the points I try to share with the blog readers at Http://GrandTerracenews.blogspot.com . Have no fear Walt nor the Millers are my puppets. That my friend could not be further from the truth.
